Fat on back of hips

People talk about havn muffin top in the front but I've got it in the back of my hips, that part at the top of your jeans, yuck! What exercises can u do for that?

I think the general answer I read for similar questions is that fat loss in general is what's needed, and not necessarily specific exercises, BUT, I wanted to share an exercise that really seems to give me a "good" sore in that area, it is from the new KCM split sessions dvds and she calls them "good mornings", they seem really easy when I am doing them, but I always get the doms from that particular exercise.

You hold one dumbbell around 10-15 pounds up by your collar bone she does it by crossing her arms to hold the dumbbell, then just bow forward to table top and back up again, it's about a 2 count down and 2 count up.

Hi runfree:

I sympathize because when I put weight on, that is exactly where it goes! It drives me nuts but it is genetically predetermined so.....

As first poster said, it's all about overall body fat loss so regular exercise and raising the metabolism will take care of it. When I am in shape, mine comes right back off again, so it doesn't need heroic measures, just slow, steady fat loss. In terms of general health, this is a better place to have your fat rather than around the stomach.....

I have the same problem...but I have found that as I have lost weight (20# so far), they have decreased...I still have a little back there, but also have 10 # to go. And I also think they go not only with just weight loss..but weight loss and muscle gain.

Good luck to us both !!!

I think its just hormonal. I put on there when I have had too much fruit / carbs. You might get tested for the dreaded insulin resistance. The treatment is cardio which might be why Insanity worked for one of the previous posters.

Maybe I should try that.. . . mmm. . Insanity? . . .

gah enablers. . . .
