Your fat calories are based on a % of your total caloric intake for the day. Total fat should equal between 25 to 30% of your daily calories (no more than 8 to 10% from saturated fats though). So if you are eating 2,000 calories per day, between 500 to 710 calories can come from total fat. If you eat 1,500 calories per day, 375 to 450 calories can come from total fat.
When reading labels and doing your calculations, remember that 1 gram of fat equals 9 calories.
Strive to get most of your fat calories from mono and ployunsaturated fats. And avoid transfats, please.
