Hello Friends of the Forum.

I just got home from a family reunion/parent's 50th anniversary. The highlights-the weather cleared up, free cottage on a beautiful northern MI lake, impromptu parents renewing their vows, and we all basically got along. Plus, I had a chance to walk 5 plus miles in a rural setting of farms and lake shore.
The downers-nephew being tipped in a canoe, who is in a chair, he laughed all the way through but not Mom or Dad. Stranded on the Lake Charlevoix on my brother's cool 25' cruiser at 10pm at night, danceathon at cabin, DS and BIL having serious martial problems.

Thank GOD, I won't see most of my family members until Christmas week.

Please share your experiences of family get togethers.
TIA.

We just had one yesterday and it was great! Everyone got along (at least on the surface!!!) It was actually a fundraiser for 4 families that we know of that are in need/crisis. We raised a lot of money, too. It was nice to see everyone chip in and do some good for these families (3 with cancer and one a serious illness). My divorced parents who never speak even both came without any problems (again...that people would notice!! ha!)

It doesn't always go smoothly, but this time it did!
