Fabulous & Fit 40's May 4th - May 10th

Powerstrike 5 and CoreMax abs (section 3). Tomorrow is my day off, and I really need it!

Lisa, why aren't you doing the squat rack option anymore? I'm trying to decide: plyo or squat rack. I don't know which DH would hate more. He'll probably abandon me each week for the leg workout.

I hope Madison improves with treatment. I managed to keep my cat going for nearly a year, although she got very weak at the end. The fluids allowed her to lead a fairly comfortable life (considering her age). Good luck and keep us posted!

Murphy, you just can't get sick again! Take care of yourself -- you've just been sick so much. :( How old is your youngest child? I forgot... I used to be sick more when mine were younger, but I was more sleep-deprived back then.

Mary, what advice would you give about squat rack vs. plyo legs? I'm starting Meso 3 next week. (And you're going to Disney next week!)

Ronne, there is no way I'd do Imax 3 after any leg workout! You must be getting into excellent shape if you can do that! I think Imax 3 is so tough that I usually do it right before my day off, so I can recover. It is extremely challenging.

And last of all, welcome, Tricia, to our group!

Okay, back to work before I get fired. Boss has been cranky lately, and I'm being cranky right back!;)

Hi everyone

Lisa - glad to hear your dog is doing OK. She obviously means a lot to you and your family. Also glad you got a good night's sleep - it makes all the difference doesn't it!

Kathryn - cranky bosses are the worst! I agree Imax3 is challenging but I actually prefer it to Imax2 which I avoid doing!

Murph - glad to hear you're taking it easy. Don't go getting ill again!

Mary - so have you only got two more disks of the whole series? I've lost track!

Hi to Tricia as well!

I had a nice short workout today - MM Upper Body premix. Yesterday I got my new DVDs - Stretch Max and Abs Circuits. I previewed some of the Abs Circuits and they look pretty tough. I'm hoping to give one of them a go tomorrow. The filming style is quite different to previous series, isn't it? Is that something that you STSers have noticed?

Sorry this is a short one. I'm supposed to be working and I keep putting this job off!

What a day, too many errands, guess they all piled up!

Murphy, we need to find you a supplement to help with your immunity, I'm sure Kathryn knows of one.

Kathryn, I decided not to do squat, because for the amount I needed to go heavy (for week 1 I was squatting 75 lbs) ended up making my knees hurt more than plyo. Sounds crazy doesn't it? And quite frankly it wasn't half as fun as plyo and I figured once I did one then the rest were pretty much the same. Oh, and where I rested the barbell for on my back and on my delts it was actually bruised...I don't have a pad but I used a towel to cushion it.

Ronne, you are in the minority liking Imax3 more than imax2....that must be why you live across the pond. :p Sounds like you are really getting back into your workouts!

Gotta run and start thinking about getting dinner started, so much to do, so little time!

Hi girls! Lisa, just saw the issue of Newsweek about the Walmart in Denver, I didn't see you, but I saw some bananas and milk! They were talking about how shopping habits have changed. Good news about Madison and the night's sleep. I am jealous! Ronne, how funny about Imax 2, I can do that one! 3 is just terrifying to me, I have Hardcore extreme, Now that I think about it, I avoid that one too! Kathryn, I am doing both the squat rack legs and plyos. I go lighter in the weight for plyos, I think max 40lbs, on the squat legs, I wear a 2 weighted vests, can only lift 55-60 lbs over head, I see why you need the squat rack, If my DH was here all the time, he could spend an hour helping me!! They are both so different, but both enjoyable. I wasn't any help, was I? Murphy, I hope you feel better soon, sometimes I think the weather change messes with our immunity. Where has Andrea been? Hi to you Tricia, and welcome. Have a good night all. Mary

Kathryn - cranky bosses are the worst!

Ronne, I'm married to mine! ;) It's my fault he's cranky and that's all I'm going to say about that! :D

Hey, does anybody actually do Imax 1? I have it, but if I've ever done it, it was so long ago that I don't remember. Imax 2=Fun. Imax 3=Eat your Wheaties. I hope Cathe doesn't come out with Imax 4 or we'll all be hospitalized! But I actually like Imax 3... when it's over!

Must clean kitchen... can procrastinate no longer (since we have no clean dishes and I can't find the sink)! How does this happen? It was spotless two days ago!

Hey Gals!

I started the Lean phase yesterday and WOWIE I am so sore today - maybe I should not have taken that week off between the phases

I have been so darned busy and today I hope I can relax a bit and do some personals with you all.

Just wanted to say a quick hello for now as I need to wake my kids up for school this morning.

Hello everyone

Kathryn - the funny thing is last night I suddenly thought 'Doesn't Kathryn run her own business?' I was going to ask you today!
I don't own Imax 1. It's terrible but I'm really put off by the look of those earlier workouts!
I don't understand how things get dirty so quickly. I feel like I spend my whole life cleaning the bathroom or dusting!

Lisa - sounds like you made a good decision on the squats. From what I've seen those plyos are going to work you pretty hard!

Mary - how heavy are those vests you're wearing? How are your legs looking now? Can you see a difference?

Hi Vilma!

I'm hoping to be able to get my workout in today. I had to go to the doctor this morning. Then the builder arrived to finish some stuff off so I'm keeping my fingers crossed he'll be gone soon so I can do 4DS LIS and core. I'm going to try the stability ball abs from abs circuits.

What's everyone up to this weekend? We're doing final jobs on the house before the carpet is laid on Monday and then I think we can stop!! Not very exciting but we should have more time after this weekend is finished.

Hope everyone has a good one.

Happy Friday! I hope you all have a good Mother's day! My DH is at the fire station on Sun. And we have a track meet, It is supposed to be sunny and beautiful, Maybe I'll make the kids make me dinner?! Ronne, don't forget pics of your house transformation, now that it will finally be done! I wear 22lbs of vest, very sweaty underneath, when I am done. And actually my legs do look a little better, I can almost see that tear drop on the side! (no where near like Cathe's, but it is there!) Murphy, are you feeling better? Hi to you Vilma, we have missed you this week! Kathryn, my DH and I used to work together, I loved it! Now I am used to him being gone for 24 hrs at a time! Hi to you LIsa! Have a good weekend all! Mary

Argh I just popped in to Wish all the moms here a Happy Mother's Day for Sunday .

My schedule has been nonstop with just serious household errands thank goodness I schedule in my workouts so I keep those appointments ;)

I need a day off - my dh is working on Mother's day so it'll just be me and my 2 younger kids as oldest dd is working also.

Just a regular day - at least DH is taking me out for my birthday dinner on Wednesday :)

Hi everyone, happy friday! I did STS M3, wk2, B/S/T disc, sometimes those 4 sets seem to drag on forever.
I slept good again last night, yea, 2 nights in a row, I must be in heaven?!?!

Which of you Moms have BIG plans? My DS from college is coming home on Mom's day, we won't go out and eat though, too crowded, I went and bought some king crab legs, cocktail shrimp, and strawberries and Pineapple....uh, yea, I was hungry when I went to the store, some of that wasn't planned and also of course picked up other unplanned stuff!

Other than that, the only other plans this weekend is to turn the sprinkler system on (and hope there are no leaks from the winter) and also get DH to repair the water line to the evaporative cooler (we needed it these last couple of days so I've had to run the hose over to it to get water into it---oh, but first I had to get DH to turn the water onto the hose --- such fun ---NOT --springtime chores. Doesn't it seem that we just had winter? Now I wonder, who here doesn't know what an evaporative (aka swamp) cooler is?

I'll be back for personals later......man I'm hungry....again....I can't think, must get FOOOOOOODDD!!!!

Mother's Day...

... for me, it means doing the same things I always do, only with a vase of flowers on the counter!

Ronne, I so agree with you! I have a hard time making myself do the older Cathe videos because of the look! Maybe that's why I haven't done so many of the early step routines.

I generally like working with DH, but we need a break now and then, and haven't really had one. Lots of pressure with this project (that's supposed to go to the printer on Monday). We've been working on it for the better part of a year (and I'm soooo sick of it!)...

Anyway, I'm starting Meso 3 tomorrow. I'm still torn between squat rack and plyo -- maybe I'll do both. (Just kidding!) :D
