eye infection / cornea question

Hi fellow fitness fanatics. I awoke this am with either an eye infection or cornea problem (had punctured my cornea years ago and the sensation all came rushing back). Eye is red like a meatball, sensative to light, and tearing a lot. It's Sunday, so Doc's office is closed. Now my question. Contacts are out and I know my workouts well enough that I don't need my glasses on to see to workout. But I seem to recall that the eye doc told me once with an eye infection or problem NOT to raise my blood pressure. I believe I was devastated at the time thinking I couldn't work out. Am I recalling wrong? Does anyone know of a workout restriction when you have an eye problem? TIA

Lorrie -
Based on what you have said, I'd skip the workout today and play it safe. You don't want to mess with your vision. Missing one day of a workout is much better than exposing yourself to that risk. Make an appt. first thing Monday, and with any luck you'll be back into your workouts no later than Tuesday.

I've had cornea problems in the past, and recalling the pain and discomfort, I know there's no way I'd work out, even if it was medically safe.

Just remember that health and fitness is more than working out each day. It's knowing when to hold off, too. Take care, and I hope your eye heals soon.

Thanks Shannon - I know you're right of course. I'm just coming off of my last recovery week in P90X and I'm really itchin' to get back full tilt into my Cathe's - the energy level is high and the motivation is kickin! I just remember something about blood pressure. UGH! Thanks again.
