Eye creams - why and which ones??

midnight

OK, totally trivial subject, but I was just wondering....

Do eye creams really work or do they just want you to buy an additional product that you really don't need? Do they really get rid of the puffiness and dark circles, not to mention those little wrinkles?? Wouldn't regular moisturizer do the same thing?

Which ones, if any, do work?

For me, eye creams were a waste of money, until I turned 37. Whammo, my laugh lines that regular moisturizer used to hide, weren't going into submission any more. My upper eye lids were suddenly puffy in the morning. I was not a happy camper.

I had used Clinique for years, and tried different stuff, always going back to it. Now, it's like my skin is too old or too dry for Clinique. I switched to Pharmagel products for general skin care, and for my eyes, Alterna Caviar Night Repair Eye Cream. This stuff is about $66 in salons (you can find it half price on eBay sometimes), BUT IT WORKS!!!!!!

IT REALLY WORKS!!!!!!!! I will never be without it again! It takes out the puffiness, and my laugh lines are no longer noticeable.

Midnight, I love the idea of eyecreams, and usually do use them. I ran out of my latest eye cream-Neutrogena. So I have been using Oil of Olay 7x Effects. Not the eyecream, just the regular 7x Effects. I think this is just fine. It's rich and I can really tell a difference in my skin. It's more refined, less splotchy, and the fine lines around my eyes are practically non-existent. I won't be buying eyecream anytime soon, because this is working! :) Olay does sell the eyecream too, and I have heard the Regenerist line is also great, but sometimes I think eyecream is a ploy to sell more product. :)

I use Derma E's Pycnogenol w/ Green Tea eye cream. It's actually a gel and really works on puffiness for me. I don't think there is anything that works on dark circles, but I do think many creams can help the appearance of fine lines.

Gina,

Do you use any other products by Derma E? I've seen their line and have been curious about trying some of their products, but haven't heard much about them.

Thanks,
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

I really love the eye gel. I just began using Pycnogenol + Vitamins gel for the face a few days ago, and I like it so far. I have oilier skin, so I love that they make a lot of products in gel form. I am going to try their Microdermabrasion scrub next because I've heard excellent things about it. Right now, you can get a sample of 10 or so of their most popular products for $4.95. Very tempting lol...

Hi Midnight! Go to skinbiology.com & if you have lines underneath your eyes or skin sagging above your eyelids the CP Night Eyes Premier cream is the one for you to use. These products are nothing short of AMAZING!! There are pictures of women that have been using these products for some time & it does work. I've been using them & my skin has never felt so smooth & is completely flawless of all imperfections. All the other cosmetic creams that are sold damage your skin btw. HTH, Kathy:D

Thanks so much Gina! That's a great deal - I'll have to check it out. I have oilier skin too and am hesitant to put creams, etc. on my face for fear of breaking out.

I've never noticed a difference if I use them. I also like Oil of Olay Regenerist lotions. Something with sunscreen in it is nice, but I also wear a layer of sunscreen over my moisturizer.
