LOL!!!!! No, ROTFL!!!!

I have talked many of my coworkers in to using a Stability Ball for an office chair. We are all real close and we rotate using our ball and our office chairs. I purhased the real durable kind off of the net, they didn't. Well, today, my girlfriend's ball EXPLODED!! She was just sitting at her desk and all of a sudden you heard this air leaking out. I didn't put two and two together, but I heard her mutter "OH NO!!" and then there was a loud BANG!! We all rushed to her to find she had landed on her tailbone, sprawled out on the floor, and the ball was ripped to shreds!!

Non-Anti Burst Stability Ball: $15.99

Pump to fill Stability Ball: $9.99

Watching one of your close friends BITE it?.....

PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

The moral of the story here folks is that YES the balls do break and YES you could get severely injured. She thumped her head back on the wall behind her!! Anti-burst are the best way to go!!

For safety reasons, there's no way in he** my employer would allow stability balls here. Too much opportunity for suing as well.

Falling on your tailbone can stay with you for awhile. I hope she's okay.

I do imagine this could be serious....but for some reason unknown to me.....I laughed....;) ...it made me think about the person who posted a thread about using her child's big ball for a stability ball and how she was taking her chances big time! I've used 2 different balls that I got at Target and I don't believe they are Anti-burst..so far so good....yes, I could be crazy...:)...Carole

Mine isn't either. I don't see the anti-burst label on the box. But I use it only for PUB/KPC ab work and PLB floor work, and yes, so far so good. I still use my step for weight work. My entire back is on the step and I therefore feel there is more support for my spine.

Janice, I hope your friend is okay.:)

 OMG!!!! LOL! I thought that wasn't possible! I thought those things could resist about 500lbs of force! That is a funny story. I hope your coworker is okay.

I thought they could withstand tons of force, too!! That is why when she blew it I said, "Hey, are you sure you are not GAINING weight?". It was a blow to her ego cuz she recently lost about 10 pounds.:)

It's OK everyone. You can laugh. We sure as heck did, my whole office!!! Luckily, the high-ups are none the wiser!:)

By the way you guys...I checked my ball and I have a Slow Deflate Thera Band Professional Exercise Ball I bought at fw online. If somebody wants to check it out it is here: http://www.fwonline.com/tbs.htm in case the ball is punctured the ball deflates slowly instead of exploding :p

I'm editing to add that you could send an email with this link to your coworker. That would be funny!
