Exercise while trying to conceive

Hello - Although I've been lurking on the rest of the forum for quite some time I've only recently started looking into the fit moms forum because I am now officially "trying to conceive". I'm new to posting so please bear with me! My question is this. I am currently an intermediate exerciser who enjoys doing Cathe's step tapes, including the power moves. Plus my heart rate really gets up there (I'm usually at the upper end of my training zone). I currently do 2-3 step tapes per week plus some combination of MIS, PH, the PS series, or the SH series, for a total of 5 workouts a week. I was thinking about this and wondered whether I needed to be concerned regarding the step tapes about the impact moves and the high heart rate in the case that I became pregnant but didn't yet KNOW I was pregnant. In other words, a person could potentially be pregnant and not know it for several or more weeks! Could I potentially do damage without knowing it? Should I modify my workout style in any ways while trying to conceive? Any thoughts on this, and any good references on healthy exercise while trying to conceive/while pregnant would be appreciated. Thanks!
Julia

Hi Julia! Sure, to play it safe, maxing out with a high heart rate may be something you just may want to modify during those "trying times". Just bring it to the "working hard" level rather then the "maxing out" level. Good Luck!

Thanks very much for your response, Cathe. If you have a chance I just wanted to clarify something regarding the high impact moves. Do you know whether it's the high impact itself I would want to avoid (due to potentially too much jarring), or whether it's the high heartrate/overheating that is more important to avoid? I appreciate your thoughts,
Julia
