Excellent article for us happily single ladies

I SO get this one!

Relationships are great when they are sincere, wholesome and edifying, rather than contrived and/or obligatory.

Just human nature, and culture, I suppose. So many folks have already made up their minds about their own relationship choices and consider themselves duty bound to determine choices for you as well. The line about the senior care home being 'a hotbed of intrigue and romance, like high school, but with walkers' had me rolling :D

ooooooooohhh....I like it. I LOVE it! Thanks for sharing that. I started responding by copying and pasting a few lines and making comments, but I realized quickly that I'd pretty much copy and paste the entire article! :D

It took me a while (my a marriage of 9 years before DH passed away, 2 serious relationships that ended amicably and more recently a very serious relationship that ended HORRIBLY) for me to finally realize that I am okay alone. I'm okay raising my boys on my own. I'm okay being single (and totally single, as in not even dating). I'm COMPLETE, being SINGLE. Does that make sense? I no longer have the feeling inside of me that tells me I need somebody ELSE to make me complete. I no longer go out and about my day and night, looking at ring fingers on men to see if they're available. ;)

YAY me! :D

interesting article. Honestly, I am content on my own and I am not "looking." I recently found out a friend of mine, whom cursed dating sites and singles groups has done both. There are men whom I am attracted to but I haven't gone out of my to be with them.

yep! Here I am 32 years old and single and the prospect of giving up my freedoms to arrange myself around some body else induces either laughter or makes me break out in mental hives. I know my siblings and cousins probably don't understand me but I have always had the opinion that its better not to pretend to love someone that is subpar than to be dating aimlessly people I don't actually like.
