YAY Shelley, celebrating your clean day yesterday with you!

So far so good here...

Today looks like this

Have a clean day folks!

Goodmorning Shelley and Jane. Wonderful that you are doing so well. Wish I could say the same. Chocolate keeps jumping into my mouth. You'd think with it being my trigger food, I'd be smart enough to not have any around the house, but the thought of no chocolate sends me into a panic. Today:

B - cereal w/fruit, soymilk
L - black bean soup, carrots, slice oat bread, orange
D - I'm really excited about this. We've invited about a dozen or so close friends and family to be our guests at what we think is the nicest restaurant in town to celebrate our legal victory over the counties Mental Retardation agency. I'll probably have salmon and something chocolate (!) for dessert. And several glasses of wine.
Have a wonderful day all.

Hi Robin!

I understand about the chocolate thing. Cookies are my trigger, but as someone wise once told me, if you don't eat that cookie, there will be others. It's not the LAST cookie in the world. It helped me tremendously to be able to think "I don't have to eat that cookie, because I can have one another time if I want to".

Your dinner sounds divine! What a nice way to celebrate:)

I'll try that thought pattern. My mind usually goes along the line of "I deserve that chocolate, one more won't hurt, I've alread blown it so why not have another, etc, etc."
By the way, I shared your comment about all of us being a mess inside with DD. I think she related big time. I'm not sure what kind of affect growing up with her sometimes embarrasing and always annoying brother has had on her.

Good morning ladies. Yesterday got screwed up but I still ate fairly good. My DH has errands to do and I went along and we ended up eating dinner at Ruby Tuesday's. I had the grilled chicken, plain baked potato and broccoli and onion soup from their smart eating menu. I didn't get in my workout though. So I"m not sure what I'll do today - I was planning on doing Charlene Prickett's Crazy for Step but I may do yesterday's workout instead.

Here's what I'm planning for today:

Breakfast: oatmeal w/walnuts and dried cranberries, 2 coffees
Lunch: Lite English muffin w/ff ham, apple
Snack: ff cottage cheese w/ff yogurt
Dinner: ??? We're going to my parent's restaurant which is basically a sub shop. I'll probably have a turkey sand on wheat or rye and maybe some soup? The special today is homemade mac-n-cheese which is def a no-no.

Have a great day all! :)

We are all on our own journey to a healthy existance and it means different routes and different demons for us all. I find it helpful to share the experience with my friends here.
Robin- there will always be chocolate in the world. I understand and share your love of it. Your dinner tonight sounds like a nice evening. It is just what DH and I do when we go out. Dine and wine, and NO GUILT.

Shelly and Jane- I'm right there wtih you on a roll of good days. I started journaling, not just food, and I feel good about it.

Judy, I just started back journaling (other than food), I've never stopped journaling my food or exercise. I found journaling to help last fall and then I just sort of dropped it. I am back at it and it really helps keep me on track.

We wound up at Longhorn tonight and I did get the grilled chicken salad. I only ate half of it because it is so big, I'll have the other half for lunch tomorrow.

I'm back using fitday and have started calorie staggering again! YEAY! I did good ALL day today!:7

B: kashi cereal with f/f milk, coffee
S: banana and 1 tblspn natural pb on 2 slices ww bread
L: 1/2 turkey sandwich on ww bread, 1/2 apple, 1/2 cup l/f cottage cheese
S: protein shake=banana, f/f milk, 2 scoops van. protein powder
D: 1 cup ww noodles w/1/2 cup l/f cottage cheese, 1 serving honey roasted peanuts

Total: 1575 cals = 22% fat, 53% carbs, 25% protein.

Wendy don't you feel so much better zigzagging with the fats/carbs/protein stacking up just right? I love it!! I still haven't tried those WW noodles and cottage cheese, I've got to do that!

Jane,

I am tempted to print out the daily menus that add up really well and just keep repeating them so that I can take the WORK out of it when I'm not in the mood or don't have the time to figure out calorie and f/c/p ratios! I don't get this close to perfect lots of times! I eat the same basic foods every week so I could probably very easily repeat exact menus as often as I wanted to! Hmmmm....I think I will just have to do that! :)
