Estrolean

This story was on one of the local news channels last night. I wonder what anyone here knows about this "estrolean." Sounds pretty scary to me....

"There is a diet pill for women on the market, which claims to have more benefits than just losing weight.

A group of New York City police officers lost weight together testing a new over-the-counter diet supplement called EstroLean at the New York University School of Medicine.

Michelle Granick, who says she feels pretty good, is one of the 30 female officers using the supplement that claims to curb appetite, boost energy and regulate menstrual cycle issues like bloating, cramps and mood swings.

"They lost weight, they started changing their eating patterns, and they started exercising," Dr. Steven Lamm said.

Dr. Lamm studied the officers over 12 weeks and found the women were able to stick with the diet and exercise program, losing an average of 15 pounds.

So what is in EstroLean? A combination of herbs. Rhododendron is supposed to help reduce appetite; extracts of apple and pomegranate are used for hormonal balance and bitter orange and green tea are in the formula to speed up fat burning.

Officer Christine Bella says she got dramatic results. "I went from a size 14 to a size 10 and I feel so much better about myself."

You should check with your doctor to see if EstroLean is right for you. A 30-day supply costs about $30."

Green tea has caffeine in it, so depending on the dosage of this Estrolean pill, the subjects may just be taking caffeine supplements, which supposedly does help with weight loss...
I don't know anything about the other ingredients mentioned.
