Electrolyte Replacement

Can you recommend an excellent product to replace electrolytes? I am looking for the lowest possible amount of sugar...I want it to be as clean as possible...IF possible! Is it possible? I have never even seen the labels on these things!

Can ya help me out?

Hi Sarah! When I do cardio I usually drink Emergen-C. They have a tropical blend that's awesome! I don't know if you have a Trader Joe's near you (TJ's sells it) but if not, Vitamin Shoppe sells this. There are other blends too. Check it out! HTH, Kathy:D

Hey Sarah, I don't know if you have been reading the Vitamin thread that has been going crazy lately, but I have to tell you about Shaklee's Performance sport drink. It was originally developed for the Daedalus athletes who broke the world record for human-powered flight...pedaling a plane for 72 miles...using Shaklee performance as their only source of energy and fluid. These elite athletes were able to maintain this same performance level for 6 full hours - the energy equivalent of running 3 marathons back-to-back. After 200 minutes of vigorous pedaling in the laboratoy, cyclists drinking either Shakee Performance or water were asked to speed up. At this rapid pace, Shaklee Perforance drinkers endured for 33 minutes, the water drinkers lasted just 2 minutes.

This is what the label says it contains: OptiCarb (maltodextrin, fructose, glucose), citric acid, natural flavors, sodium citrate, tricalcium phosphate, potassium chloride, magnesium carbonate (your electrolytes).

For more info on Performance, you can go to my website at www.shaklee.net/robin_walker and type in the word Performance in the search box in the upper right hand corner.

I take Emergen-C as well when I workout. I like the "Super Orange" and the new "Black Cherry heart formula." I also have some "Hi-K COla" (which I don't think they make any more :-( ) that I"ve been mixing with the Black Cherry to make a "cherry cola" drink!

I've seen Emergen-C in Walmart and Walgreens as well (a limited number of flavors).
