Eating for Heavy Lifting /vs. Endurance Lifting

Does anyone know why we tend to get hungrier after doing heavy lifting as opposed to when we do endurance lifting? Is is something physiologically or is it all in the mind?

It is just a wild guess, but I would think that it's because for heavy lifting we mainly use glycogen for fuel, as opposed to endurance lifting, when fat can be fuel. When fat is being used for fuel we'll have free fatty acid in the bloodstream and that acts as appetite suppresent.
I learned these things when I was a long distance runner. I was never hungry after the long runs due to those free fatty acids!
