I workout at 5:30am. Should I be eating before my workout? and what? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I don't want to cancel out my workout by doing the wrong thing.

Everyone is different with whether or not they eat before an AM workout. One thing to consider is that you've been fasting for 8+ hours during the night and you need fuel for your muscles to produce glycogen which will allow you to give your workout 100%.
If you do decide to eat you should eat something heavy in complex carbs and light in protein. Example: 1 cup of oatmeal w/ banana and a handful of sliced almonds.
Play around with it and see how you feel. Some people just can't workout after eating. Oh, and give yourself a good half hour to digest...
I don't how you are doing it, but if it doesn't bother you then I wouldn't worry about eating or not. Personally, I would see "stars" in fall to the ground. LOL!!! I always eat before and after workouts.
The only workout that I do early in the morning is cardio. And I don't eat before. I do eat immediately after. I make sure the cardio is less than an hour long, just enough to get to the fat burning stage. And I only do this when I'm cutting.
I always eat before strength training. I have a protein shake afterwards.
I always eat before working out....I have to or I'd pass out! lol
If I eat a big meal I'll wait atleast an hour before working out...if it's a small meal/snack, I'll only wait about 30 minutes.....I also eat something small afterwards most days....

I just recently started eating a small amount right before and I've gained a few pounds. I never used to do this before and I was fine, so I think I'll stick with the no eating before and a protein shake after a heavy lifting session.
I never eat before a morning workout. I work out at 4:45 am every morning and I simply don't have time to eat and wait 30 minutes before working out. Ain't no way I'm getting up 30 minutes earlier either (it's hard enough at 4:45, believe me). I always eat breakfast afterwards though. I've never had any problems from not eating before a workout. (Knock on wood)
Personally, I like to eat WHILE working out Has anyone seen Peter's Friends (movie)? Rita Rudner chowing down on a big ice cream sundae with whipped cream while furiously riding an exercise bike? Classic.
