'Eating 4 Your Type'

It's been quite a while since I have posted. But, I have always found that the people here on this board always have the greatest advice. SO, this brings me to my latest book purchase. Years ago, a friend of mine suddenly, ( and I mean SUDDENLY ) got really -really skinny. When I asked her how she lost so much weight and so quickly ( I usually do not ask these questions, as sometimes weight loss can be a very personal venue to ask quesitons on.)
Anyway, she told me that she had purchased the book "Eating for your Type"
Recently I remembered this book so I ventured over to the local Barnes and Noble and got it. But, I have one problem. I have never given birth OR given blood, and believe it or not , I have no idea what my blood type is. Though the Eat Clean Diet book is still my 'bible' as far as eating , I also think it would be intertsting what this book has to say about my blood type and the foods that I should be eating vs. avoiding. I figured, if it worked for my friend ( she never worked out by the way ) then think of what it would do for me/us being we work out with Cathe.

My first question: How IN THE WORLD can I get my blood type ? I have been jumping through HOOPS to get it. I called my hospital 4 times , they will not call me back. I've been in to see my Dr. twice ( once for a physical, another for Cholesterol check ) and they always tell me to give blood or call the hospital. UGH ! I've called a clinic that I actually had blood work done and the only thing they are allowed to give me is weather or not it's positive or negative.
I know there are nurses out there who post here. Any adivice on how I can get my 'top secret FBI Blood type information' ? ( note the sarcasm ) without going through the trouble of actually giving blood ?

Also, has anyone else read and followed this book and what did you think ? Good results. Bad. I have been told that Dr.s would use these diets per patients blood types before heading into surgery.

Long post, I know, but I figured someone out there would have some good advice.

Thank you much !

?

Gee, that's a good question. I typed mine in high school biology class. Also have donated blood, had surgery, and had children.... all of those seem to require knowledge of blood type.

I can't believe it's so hard to find out!

Good luck... maybe somebody else has the answer. I'd be interested to know.

blood type

jeepers, I tried to post a quick reply and then my computer went nuts. yah,, the guys here at work are actually laughing thier butts off at how hard of a time I am having trying to get my blood type. ( one of them has a brother who's a Dr. at the Mayo Clinic ) and even he's stumped. Geez, I guess I either have to have a baby, or go back to biology class :p Um,,,,,no thanks to either !!!

I'll keep searching. There's an answer somewhere here on earth. Lord willing. !

I have been folowing the blood type diet for over 10 years and it has made a major difference in my health and weight. My family and friends also follow it. I know a lot of people with major health issues and weight issues who got helped by the diet. It is a great customized approach (not one fits all kind of a diet). Many MDs laugh at this so don't be surpised. You can ask your doctor to to give a slip for a blood work to specify the blood type. This can be done when you go for your regular blood work or just a separate test. Also, if you donate the blood they will tell you. Another option is to get a home test which you can purchase from the Dr D'Adamo's website http://dadamo.com His website is also full of great info.
All the best!

Blood Test Kit

Ah Ha !!! Found it. That web site is actually desinged for people based off of the book. I just ordered the kit and it only cost $9.95. Guess I got free shipping too !

Very cool, and thank you for the response. I knew this would be a great place to go. I have the book, but also saw that there were recipe books that you can get as well. Basically, I am more interested in the foods that my blood type is suppsosed to avoid. You hit the nail right on the head. I have a lot of relatives with Diabetes, Stroke, Heart Attack, an Breast cancer which puts me at risk. The way I see it, we only have one body and one chance to right with it, SO,,I choose to do right so I don't end up with issues like my relatives! Thanks again for all of your help !

Greatly appreciated !

Thank you, I just ordered a used book from Amazon.com. It only cost me $2.72, with S&H the total is $6.71. That's a bit of a savings.
