Hi all -
Thanks for the quick responses.
I'm mostly an ovo-lacto vegetarian, but every once in a while I'll eat a little salmon or tuna. I really like whole grain-based dishes with lots of veggies. I honestly don't think I'm in a starvation mode, and I know I don't look like I am...
A typical day might go something like this:
Breakfast: two slices of PB toast (with too much PB, but I'm trying to cut back) or yogurt and fruit. 8 oz orange juice.
Lunch: usually leftovers from dinner the night before, plus some fruit.
Dinner: revolves around either a grain or potato dish with vegetables. Occasionally I'll do pasta. I don't like heavy sauces. I make my own tomato sauce or will stir in a little olive oil and herbs. I love cheese and usually throw plenty of that in. Also have a slice of homemade wheat bread.
I rarely have dessert, but when I do, watch out!
I recently tried to estimate calories but wasn't incredibly accurate about it since I didn't have access to how many are in an apple, for example. My estimates came to an average of 1500 or 1600 per day, I think.
From what you all say, that should be plenty - I sure would hate to eat more and then gain weight! My personal view is that I'm on the high nutrient end ... any comments?
