EAS Protein

Have any of you out there tried EAS brand protein powder? My current supply of Wellements Pro-Rated that I bought from Costco way back just expired, so I went back to Costco to buy more, only to find that they don't carry it any more, they only carry this EAS stuff. If I remember correctly, the label said it contained several types of whey protein, but a soy isolate was the second ingredient as well, and I thought I read on here that it was best to avoid soy isolate. As a vegetarian, I already eat a bit of soy in things like Boca patties, and I also blend my protein powder with light chocolate soy milk, so that's another soy source that I'm getting.

I'd rather look for another all-whey protein powder, but anything I don't get from Costco is almost twice as expensive, and since I'd like to purchase both chocolate and vanilla, it would be very pricey to NOT get it at Costco.

Can anyone recommend this product so that I can go ahead and buy it? :p

I can't speak to these but I buy my powders, as well as other supplies, at Vitacost and save me-self a chunk o'change every time :)

I hope they carry BSN Lean Dessert Protein. I love the Whipped Vanilla in my oatmeal but it's pricey locally. I'll check out Vitacost.

I didn't like the vanilla or the chocolate. I thought they both had the worst taste of any protein powder ever. It was torture that drink these. I have recently discovered Jay Rob protein powder and I think that these have the smoothest taste of any protein powder I've ever tried. They mix extremely well. I'm surprised to be a convert because I've been pretty dedicated to Designer Whey for quite some time. HTH!

Wow, I'm glad I checked before buying these. Sounds like they're pretty awful! I'm kind of at a loss now as to what to buy, and where. I keep hearing about Designer Whey, but it seems pretty expensive. The stuff I got before at Costco was only around $30 for something like 72 scoops, and everything else I've looked at seems like it's twice that. What do most of you use, and where do you get it?

I purchased some EAS advant edge soy protein powder vanilla flavor and i absolutely love it!!! I mix it with fat free milk and a tsp of vanilla extract with some icecubes and OMG it is so good, like a little treat!

I ran out of my usual BSN dessert(which is delish too) so i decided to try this because it was at walmart for like 8 bucks:eek:! Next time i will try the chocolate:)

Judegirl,I love your avatar...i had so many guinea pigs growing up,and loved them all! Brings back memories.

Someone here suggested the BSN Syntha-6 so I bought the chocolate at GNC ($$$) with goldcard. Then someone (here) suggested vitacost and I got some more through them at a significantly reduced price (like $18 cheaper). I had a problem with their shipping though - when I placed my order online, I put the full address in, having it shipped to my work, but they neglected to include the company name on the label and it was bounced around for a few days. I've learned tht I will place orders by phone in the future but their prices are great and if the package had the correct address, I would have received it in 4 days which isn't bad for $4.99 shipping!

I find the vanilla mixes very well with my oatmeal and the chocolate tastes yummy alone. I also mix 1/2 a scoop of each for a drink which is really great too!!

I bought some the EAS chocolate protein powder from Costco and don't mind the taste at all. I haven't had any problems with stomach cramps from this.

I buy the chocolate EAS whey protein at SAMS club and I also think it tastes just fine. I use a hand mixer to mix it up and then slurp it down.:9 I've also not had any problems with it and it's a whole lot cheaper than anything else I've found.

If you have a kroger store they have a protein powder that tastes really good by a guy with the last name of robb. they have the traveling pouches as well as the tubs to buy, very affordable.

Another EAS user, both vanilla and chocolate. In fact, I just used the chocolate to make my own NROLW "protein bars". Haven't tried one yet, but the "dough" tasted good.

I have actually been using it with water since I read that before and after weight training it is best not to use milk with it. Doesn't bother me at all, but honestly, I'm not real picky. Just trying to fuel myself so I'll down something that isn't absolutely dreamy tasting and I'm fine.

I also have BSN Cinnamon Roll and BSN Chocolate Fudge Pudding. They are wonderful tasting - love the cinnamon with coffee ! Not too expensive if you visit Amazon.com but I think a bit more per serving than EAS (so I use the EAS most of the time and toss in BSN when I am having a chocolate craving or on the weekends the cinnamon with my coffee. The cinnamon also works well mixed with water on your cold cereal - I use Kashi Go Lean Crunch).

HTH add to your confusion }(

Thanks for all the replies. I took at look at the BSN stuff on Vitacost.com, and someone in the comments mentioned Iron-Tek from the same website, and I looked it up here on the forums and found another couple of positive comments. It looks pretty inexpensive and it sounds like Whole Foods may carry it, so I'm off to look for it tomorrow. I keep hearing how yummy BSN is, but it's a bit more expensive than what I want to pay, plus they're out of stock on it at Vitacost. If all else fails, it sounds like EAS may not be so bad after all!
