Hi Everybody! I just bought a few of Cathe's tapes here, and saw this site. This is really nice!

Mind if I join you?

My main route of exercise is Japanese Karate. However, I supplement it often with weights, aerobics, yoga or whatever. As long as I am moving, I am happy.

This week...

Sunday- 5 min. Elliptical trainer, 5 min. Treadmill, full body free weight routine

Monday- Tamilee stretch tape

Tuesday- 15 minutes abs

Wednesday- Power walk, 45 minutes

Thursday- Power Hour (This was my first time with this...I am so sore still!!--even my husband found it challenging).

Friday- Tamilee stretch tape

Saturday- 90 minute Karate class...every move was a painful reminder of Thursday's workout!!

Well, I hope it was OK for me to post here!

Kittie

Hi Kittie, nice to "meet" you! Sounds like you're in great shape.
Aimee, so glad to see your training is going so well. We're rooting for you!
I HAD a great week workout-wise until today. I fell off my step right at the end of the workout. (I was fatigued, should have stopped sooner & almost did.) I was having such a good exercise groove going on too! I think what I have is a severe sprain. The swelling is as big as a baseball, & I need crutches to get around. I don't think anything is broken, although I can't feel much under the swelling. Will probably know more in a day or two.
Needless to say, I am feeling very down about the next few weeks, but am trying to keep things in perspective. After all, it could be much worse!
Anyway, thanks for "listening"! Any ideas out there for staying in shape at least nominally? I have thought about being able to do some upper body work, & perhaps riding my stationary bike using my good side. (Got that from Covert Bailey!)
Isn't it funny, the first thoughts I had were about my workouts. THEN I thought about going to work! We're all a little crazy around here!
Hope everyone out there is doing well, or at least coping. Let me also take this opportunity to reiterate that I am happy to send Kathy's Rotations to anyone who asks...I've had several requests & so far they seem to be "sending" smoothly. Email me at [email protected]
Stay strong everyone,
Ruth

Hi everyone--keep it up, Aimee; welcome, Kittie; and OUCH, Ruth! Hope you heal soon...

I am happy with my week:

MONDAY: rest

TUESDAY: Step-n-Intervals + MIC cd and stretch
Stretches: Imax, MIS, PH, and Bmax
Bmax abs

WEDNESDAY: 1 1/2 hr yoga session at my job (interesting, but not worth spending money on
Power Hour (no legs--had overdone it last week, so went easy this week)

THURSDAY: PowerMax

FRIDAY: Rhythmic Step

SATURDAY: PowerHour + S&H forearms
Stretches: PH, S&H series, MIS, Bmax

SUNDAY: just some core work and stretching

I'm really enjoying blending a bunch of stretches from all the DVD's. I've managed to get in 2-3 long stretches and 3-4 ab/core days for the past couple of weeks. Fun and paying off...

See you next week!
Wendy

Well, I still haven't decided what workout I'm doing today but figured I'd check in with what I've got...

Monday: S&H Chest/Back/Planks (I *LOVE* these workouts! I have really seen a change in my body and it's a good one!)

Tuesday: CTX Step & Intervals (but skipped the intervals)/Abs

Wednesday: S&H Biceps/Triceps

Thursday: CTX All Step/Abs

Friday: S&H Shoulders/CTX Power Cardio

Saturday: I had to MAKE myself take a rest day...I don't know what's up with all this energy all of a sudden but I'm lovin' it!
Sunday: I've done about 4 weeks of S&H training, so as Cathe said I'm going to "switch" to PS and CTX work for a few weeks. That said, what I'm really in the mood for today is some intense cardio so may do something like Circuit Max or Cardio Kicks, can't decide.

Have a great week, everyone!

Terri

Hey everyone! Great job everyone!

Aimee: Good luck on your last month. I know you are getting excited.

Kittie: Welcome. Glad you could join us.

Ruth: I have nearly done the exact same thing. I am clumsy by nature but add in some fatigue and that spells disaster. I have to be really careful. Hope you heal quickly.

Wendy: That is interesting with combining the stretching sections from different tapes. I done have a DVD player so that would probably not be an option for me. Sounds good though.

Terri: Maybe you could share some your new found energy!

My week was not so great but I have had a cold and my ankle has been aching a little. I twisted it a couple of weeks ago. See what I mean? Clumsy, clumsy, clumsy!!!

MONDAY: Advanced Step. As I always say, Andre makes me smile.

TUESDAY: Superstep. G-Force is just SUPER!!!!!

WEDNESDAY: Nothing. Way too busy.

THURSDAY: Power Hour and a 2 mile walk/run.

FRIDAY: Superstep Had to do it again since it is so SUPER!

SATURDAY: Nothing. Too tired, too sick and just plain didn't want to do it.

Maybe next week will be better. I just got Superstep and absolutely love it. They are fun to workout with!

Have a great week everyone!!!

Kelly

Check in

Hello all! Welcome, Kitty, you are going to love these forums! Ruth, take care of your boo boo; it's amazing how quickly fit bods heal! Aimee, Wendy, Terri and Kelly, you had great weeks! I was going to skip posting because I had a bad week! (I wish I could insert a frown from the Plauder Smilies site but I didn't copy any frowns down, only smilies). Which, I think, helps prove my claim that it was PMS which ruined my week! My husband informed me a few days ago that he doesn't believe in PMS! If that's true, then I am just a grouchy, moody, ill-tempered meanine! And I'm retaining Lake Michigan! Let me know if I am letting you know more than your really need to!

My week was as follows:

Monday BodyMax
Tuesday CardioKicks/quit halfway through/didn't go well!
Wednesday 5 mile run/S&H LS Loved it!
Thursday Half day of school/ hubby home/ chaos! No workout!
Friday 5 miler part two of half days/ hubby home/ we'll
call it "working" rest! No rest for the weary!

That's it! This was supposed to be my inaugral week for S&H but
it just didn't happen. The lovely thing is I can start over! Have a great week, each and everyone of you! Let me know how you stay motivated in the face of any obstacles you might face!

Peace,
B http://www.plaudersmilies.de/natur/petals.gif obbi

Checking in

Hi Everyone,

Aimee, bet you're happy to be on the home stretch.

Kittee, welcome!

Finished 3 weeks of Slow & Heavy & loved it. I went fairly heavy on legs which is a leap of faith for me since I bulked up rapidly w/ PS when I went heavy. Don't really want to look like Bonnie Blair in her competitive prime! Anyhow, my legs actually seem to look leaner despite all the comfort food I've consumed this month. Several friends have admitted their diet has gone from lean to comfort.

My week:
Slow & Heavy (1x each)
Cycling (2x 81 miles total)
Spinning (1x)
trotting w/ dogs (2x 40 mins) w/ Tamilee standing stretch
Pilates matwork (1x)
Millenium Stretch (1x)

I'm going to switch to Power Hour (last but not least) & start doing more cardio again. The planks in S&H are tough so they're going to stay in my schedule (maybe I can get my husband to do them too).

Trying to find the balance between staying informed & not getting consumed w/ the war against terrorism, not to mention the economic news.

I'm hoping for cooler weather. It's gotten toasty here & I think the first Santa Ana (desert) winds started up.

Take care everyone.
Debra

RE: Checking in

Hi Everyone,

Wow, it looks like everyone had a great week. You guys are awesome;o) As for me, my week started out nice. Then I got sick, I felt it coming on Friday at work. Saturday in bed all day long, today I stayed in bed until 4:00pm; well rested. Then I had this crazy notion to go to the mall and buy me a sweater, and I did, four of them, yike, hehe.

But, feeling much better this evening. I hate I missed Sat & Sun workout. Darn, now I feel like I need to re-do S&H rotation. I'm going to sleep on it. If not, I'll be starting PS & CTX rotation tomorrow. Well enough bout me, here's my week:

Sunday: Bodymax 1&2, climbed up and down 6 flights of stairs 10x

Monday: S&H Chest/Back, bodymax 1&2

Tuesday: Cardio Kicks

Wednesday: unplanned restday

Thursday: S&H Legs/Shoulders 45 minute jog

Friday: S&H biceps & triceps 20 minute jog

Saturday: Sick

Sunday: Sick

Trese

Just got back from a canoe trip last night, so I'm a little late with check-in.

Ruth -- heal soon! Swimming would also be good. Put those legs in a pull-buoy and go. Glad I'm not the only one who would think of missing workouts first.

Here's my week:
SUNDAY-- 2.25 mile jog + 15 min. w/u & c/d; S&H Chest & Back
MONDAY -- 2.25 mile jog + 15 min. w/u & c/d (this was hard and had some pain in my right Achilles -- not tempted to run two days in a row again)
TUESDAY -- S&H Shoulders
WEDNESDAY -- hiked to highest point at the outdoor ed center -- the infamous Fairview Peak -- with 22 10-year-olds, nonetheless -- 11 miles round-trip and I have the blisters to prove it
THURSDAY -- rest
FRIDAY -- 2.25 mile jog + 15 min. w/u & c/d
SATURDAY -- 13 mile canoe on Colorado River in Utah
SUNDAY -- 7 mile canoe with lots of playing, which is hard work!

The 5K running plan is going well. I start some short repeats this week. S&H rotation also is going so well, I'm doing another week. A great week overall.

:) Gretchen
