I am a 46 yr old multi-sport athlete who is battling Piriformis Syndrome (overuse injury - I've been a triathlete for 22 yrs and a runner for over 30 yrs). After months of suffering severe butt pain 24/7 and not being able to race since September 15, 2002 (Ironman Wisconsin), I decided to strengthen my glutes and heal myself. I used Christmas gift cards to purchase: Firm's Super Body Sculpt, BSS2, Upper Body/Lower Body Split and Upper Body/Standing Legs. 6x/wk I either swim/walk-jog/cycle 30 min prior to a Firm workout. In four months I have worked up to being able to swim 2000 yds and jogging 5 miles - pain free! I'm obviously addicted and ready for the next level.

On Videofitness, everyone raves about Cathe's workouts. I've decided to ask for Cathe's workouts for Mothers Day. I'm mainly interested in strength/endurance/core/stretch exercises with the goal of returning to my sport a healthier, stronger, tougher me. What should I ask hubby to buy?

Thank you for your time.

Hi Andell,

Wow- IRONMAN! I'm glad you took the initiative and are feeling well again. Virtually all of Cathe's strength workout include abs & stretching, and different workouts are geared toward strenght vs. endurance. Someone was looking for ideas for buying a DVD, and the responses were informative. Also, I asked the same question a while ago and posted that link in the thread.

I hope this is helpful!

List someone posted a while ago that I always use as a reference. Top of list is Endurance- lighter weights, higher reps, condition muscles for daily use. Bottom is Strength- heavier weights, fewer reps, build lean muscle Going downward, workouts become more strength based, going upward, more endurance based.
