In our last update we informed you that we were sending a DLT master to an independent lab for a thorough analysis just to make sure everything was okay. We did hear back from the independent lab last week and everything from the audio to the layer change point was fine. Based on the labs positive review we sent new DLT masters to SONY last week and yesterday received check disc back on three of the titles. We are currently reviewing the check discs and so far everything looks just fine. We’ve tested the check disc on players that we know have had a problem and so far everything looks great. In fact on most of the titles that froze completely or for a very long time you can’t even see or tell where the layer change point is because the layer change point is hidden in a transition fade to black. The only exception is Drill Max where some of you will see a brief normal layer change stutter at the beginning of the Firewalkers while Cathe is marching in place. Most of you will not experience nor see the layer change as most modern players are seamless. Those that do see the normal layer change stutter have nothing to fear as it will be very brief and is located at the beginning of the chapter point while Cathe is Marching in place. We still have two more titles to review and hopefully SONY will have those to us shortly. We’re are also continuing to thoroughly review the three DVD check disc we currently have and are having our employees take the disc home and test them on their players as well as watch them on our players in the office. We have also already sent and are still sending some check disc to customers who had audio or some other unusual problem just to make sure everything is perfect before we go to press.
Finally, we still can’t give you a firm date on when the new replacement DVDs will be ready, but were talking weeks – not months. We’ve already ordered the shipping and return envelopes to send you your replacements and programmers are coming in tonight to help us automate the process as much as possible. We will lose some days because of the Thanksgiving Holiday as our vendors for some strange reason close during this time, but if all goes well SONY will be given the go ahead sometime next week to rerun all 5 DVDs. We just want to make sure everything is absolutely perfect so we don't have to do this a third time.
