Hello, you technological genii!

Does anyone have a DVD burner (recording a DVD onto another DVD, as opposed to recording a VHS into a DVD), and if so how do you use it, how expensive was it and how dumb do you have to be to be legally prevented from buying / using one?

Hey there,

I went through a huge ordeal last year when I decided I was going to buy a DVD burner. Unfortunately, nobody warned ME that I was too dumb to buy one. Without going into my many many months' worth of frustrating details and without mentioning the hundreds upon hundreds of dollars spent x( I finally have a DVD burner and software that work *sometimes*.

The best site in the world is www.dvdrhelp.com and I recommend that you make very, very good friends with this place before you dive into the world of DVD burning. If you have specific questions, feel free to e-mail me, though I don't have too much info. All I can tell you is what worked for me and the software that I personnaly recommend.

Good Luck!

RE: Thanks, Sara!

Based on your warning, I think I'm gonna pass on them for about a decade or so, until they're as easy to use as electric can openers; you have no idea how long it took me to learn how to use that!

Thanks again!

RE: Thanks, Sara!

We have a DVD burner and to be honest we have had no luck with it, they say they can store more data then a CD ROM and after my hubby tried it, it didn't really hold that much. unless we are doing something wrong LOL. He downloaded a ton of programs to use it and still no luck. I too wanted to put my VHS on DVD like my Danielle Steel movies that do not come on DVD. When that was tried the quality was sooooo poor couldn't stand to watch it.
