Dropping 10 so we can Christmas shop - Nov 8

Goodmorning melters. It's chilly here this morning and the weatherman keeps using that nasty "S" word. Tomorrow is weigh in day for me and I'm excited. I "feel" skinnier. I got home late yesterday evening, but still did my workout. Dinner was sketchy - a granola bar and an apple on the way home from the grocery store, and a couple handfuls of cereal after my workout, but I was too pooped to do anything better. Today's plan is for LIS after work, followed by housework. I better clean some toilets before some creature crawls out of them. Hope you all have a marvelous Thursday.

Hi Robin and those that follow!

It's very cold here too.. went to wearing the winter coat yesterday and most likely today too.

I got on the scale today and am 1 pound down! Yahoo!:7 . I am at a 1/4 pound mark though.. don't you just hate that! I feel like I can never say I weigh 138, it's acutally 138 1/4... Like it was 139 1/14 etc. I know it was decided here not to post our daily menu's but sometimes it helps to see what everyone else is doing for midday snacks etc.

Regarding the new workouts: I can't wait to hear more! It sounds like there is no cardio! Yeah!!:7 :7

Good Morning Robin & Deb and all who visit :)

I did not notice that we are not posting menus here. Forgive me for posting mine.

Robin- Keep up the skinny feelings!

Just visiting this thread reminds me not to snack after dinner. I was pretty hungry and tired while getting dinner ready yesterday though and settled for some orange essence prunes. Ya know I just can't eat many of those or it is umm...punishment!

Morning all!

Robin - get those toilets cleaned, woman!

Deb - WTG on the weight loss!

Judy - if you feel like posting menus, go ahead. Yours are always inspiring, especially for us veggies:)

I got up and did Coremax 2 this morning, and will do a run after work and grocery shopping.

I'm trying to get my water in daily, but I find it more difficult at work trying to time it properly so I'm not left driving home with a full bladder. I guess that means I'll be guzzling this morning.

Hey Judy:

It's ok to post menu's .. as a matter of fact, I like that, but I thought I read sometime when the check-in started that people were not going to do that.. I post mine every day on the "50 & Over" check-in. I like to see what people eat and get new ideas!;-)

Deb

Judy, if it helps to post your menu, by all means, please do so.

Deb, way to go on the loss. And I'd ignore that 1/4 pound if I were you. As far as mid-day snacks, I've been munching a small apple. If I'm really hungry, or need something crunchy, I love Kashi crunchy granola bars.

Shelley, way to go on your fitness challenge.

Good morning. So unfortunately I had to take a rest day yesterday because I got called into work again. But that was a good thing beccause I needed the money.
I really am planning on the BBC FUllbody, you know the one I have been trying to do for 3 days!! I hope to be running with my cousind tomorrow and Sat morning also. I need some breakfast now though.

Deb- I always round down on the scale LOL!

Shelly- have a great run today

Robin- I have a dusting of snow this morning! Had to actually argue with Chase about wearing hat and gloves. Kid would be happy in just a tshirt in this cold!!!

Judy- I love reading your menus. I am always up for new ideas

Hi girls. Another day that I just don't feel like shopping. How weird is that?

Could be because I woke up still feeling crummy. I'd had PMS but last night TTOM finally started, so that doesn't help.

Yesterday I did just a premix from Kelly Coffey-Meyer's new Cardio Kick Step-Boxing video. I liked it a lot more than her original step-boxing workout (which I ended up selling). I only did a short workout because I spent way too much time moving my blog to a new place on the web. Ironically my blog about working out actually prevented me from working out. Today I plan to do Legs from Amy's Slo-Mo Strength Challenge. I might do a shorter premix and do a bit more step aerobics since my cardio was brief yesterday (and since I'm a bit rusty on lower body work and don't want to kill myself with it). I'm also crampy, so of course I don't want to do anything, but I know exercise can help the crampiness. At least the cramps aren't as bad since having my kids.

OK, I started off with TMI again. What's the matter with me?

I did pretty well on eating yesterday--hope to do even better today.

Robin, it's c-c-c-cold here as well. I had to bust out the winter coat and I was still cold walking DS to the bus stop today. I think I might have to wear thermal underwear on my legs (already have some on top). We keep our house a bit cold because DH is cheap and also immune to cold. I turn it up when he's not here, though. ;-)

Deb, congrats on the 1 lb down and ignore that 1/4 lb!

Yes, Judy, please continue posting your menu if you like. It gives me ideas! I won't post mine because it's so unplanned (hmm, part of my problem, perhaps).

Shelley, I have to plan my water drinking around my bladder, too. Mine is apparently tiny.

Maeghan, how do you like the BBC Full Body? Have you done it before? I meant to do it last week but didn't.

Off to get my 2-year old to drink some more milk. He got hold of the Children's Claritin this morning and I'm trying to dilute it (don't worry--already called Poison Control and it's no biggie).

Good morning everyone!

Sounds like you guys are all doing pretty darn good, and I agree, please post your menu plans-I found doing that got tedious for me, but if it works for you, go for it!:)

I too feel "skinny" today. And even if I do not lose, I am so proud of myself for being so disciplined about my eating. Seriously, its been awhile since I have been aware of everything that goes in my mouth. I have stopped the "picking" constantly at things, tough to do when you work at home and have food around constantly.

Todays workout is another Slim Series (snoozerville) workout and a walk. Gotta run now, have 6 people coming down for a breakfast meeting and my floors have Newfie slobber all over them!:7

Hi All!!

Okay my scale isn't moving much so I want to ask --

What exactly are you all doing to lose the 10 pounds?

Working out more or differently? Cardio - weights?
Eating less?
Eating healthy?

Come Christmas morning I want to be part of the "Lost 10 pounds and now Maintaining Club" !!!

Thanks,
Michelle

Lainie - that wasn't TMI ;-) Now, if you'd shared intimate details about TTOM, you might have crossed the line, but just telling us it started and that you have less cramps now after kids is fine. Well, I think so, anyway. And I have MORE cramps now. I hate getting older.

Mich - I dunno about anyone else, but mine is mostly eating less AND eating more healthy. My workouts have always been pretty good. I've been forced lately to do more cardio because I have tennis elbow, which is slowly feeling better. I'm not sure if that's contributing or not.

Yay to everyone who's feeling skinny!

Hi everybody!!

I'm swirling about in a flurry of activity. My DH has been gone for over a week and he's on his way home now :) :) :) . As you can see I'm a little excited :p }( :+

I went ahead and weighed myself today ( :) ) because the possibility exists that I could blow my newfound excellent eating habits by dinner-time tonight }( . I'm going to wait until tomorrow to post my results just in case I remain true to my diet and weigh even less tomorrow.

I've been very very good with diet and exercise. I didn't feel up to doing Cathe's legs and core work yesterday because of this dang cold, but I did a segment from Classical Stretch so I at least did SOMETHING! I'm going to try the leg workout today but I'm not going to push myself if I can't get air.

My fingers and toes are crossed for each of you -- I'm so darn proud of y'all for making and sticking to this commitment, and just knowing that we're all in this together is a huge boost to my drive.

>Oh crap. Just realized I have to weigh in tomorrow. Uh oh. x(

Lainie, you're adorable! If Aunt Flo just stopped by I'd wait a couple of days before weighing myself -- at least 2 or 3. IMHO your weight could be falsely high and that just ain't right!

I finally did it! BBC Fullbody! I liked it. Different not using any weights and getting a good burn. Wish there were more for biceps, but I am sure they got worked more then I think. Will do them tomorrow after my run anyway.

Oh and Writing the alphabet with your feet----HARD!!!!!! }( }( }( Have fun with that Lainie!!!!! LOL!!!!!

HeLLO!

Just wanted to pop in and say congrats on the discipline!! Can't believe the week's almost over and it's time for weigh-in #2 already!

I've been good, but I don't feel any skinnier. :(

Oh well, I'm sure it'll catch up sooner or later! At least I hope so...

I weighed this AM. Exactly the same as when we started. So the whole 3 pounds gain I experienced was obviously PMS-TOTM related. Strange, though my scale says my bodyfat is 17 percent, it had been reading 18-19 percent-high for me. Please do not think I am "bragging" or anything, Cathe's bodyfat is probably more like 10 percent-the lean, machine!

And a pair of 28's (size) jeans that were too tight, are "just right" now! :)

I know you cannot put much stock into bodyfat readings on the scale, but mine is pretty darn consistent, so I can use it as a marker at least.

I look leaner too, not alot, but even my DH told me how great I looked yesterday. I told him I was really watching my diet and how hard and unfair it is now that I am older, everything needs to be watched or else it winds up around the middle, back of the arms and the upper thighs.I was feeling very sorry for myself and missing my sugar and bread.

My sage DH replies, "Well honey, you look terrific, and if it takes a little extra work and its all worth it to you than stick with it." "If its not worth it and too hard, its only a few pounds right, you look great all the time!" Geez, I married well didn't I? :)

So stick with it, hopefully some of the changes I am making will become my new "healthier" habits. I will not automatically reach for something crappy for me without thinking. Habits are easy to break, they are just hard to stick with!:)

Hi Melters. I've been good and stayed off the scale. My weigh in day is Monday, so I still have a few days left. Best of luck to those who are weighing tomorrow. Sending ((((skinny vibes)))) to you! I have been eating textbook South Beach phase 1 since a week ago Monday but I don't feel any thinner. I have purposely chosen Monday as my official weigh day because I hope it will stop me from getting off-track on the weekends. We'll see...

Robin: Keep that 'S' word to yourself! It's too early for that mess.
Deb: Congrats on the 1 pound loss. I agree with everyone that you should to round down. A quarter pound is like 4 oz when you think about it!
Lainie: I've meant to tell you your blog is one of the best I've seen. I downloaded the weight sheets about a week ago and I've used them a lot. It's really helpful for setting up my workout space ahead of time. Thanks soo much.
Tneah: I didn't answer your question yesterday. No, I'm not a nurse, just a business analyst/programmer. And lucky for me, haven't had to use the old-style magic bullet. I think I got that term from my late stepfather, who was a lifelong sufferer (if you know what I mean). BTW, your hubby sounds like a sweetie. You did marry well!

Thanks, TK! I hope you still like the blog now that I've moved it over to Blogspot. It's certainly easier for me to organize it there

Ladies, you would not believe the day I've had! First, Ewan (my 2-year old) drank from a bottle of Claritin this morning. I had to call Poison Control (turned out to be no big deal and he didn't have a lot of it). Then he broke the knob off my bedroom door while it was closed--and I couldn't open it. I finally managed to work it open. Then as I was putting him to bed I changed his diaper and he managed to pee while it was off. That doesn't happen often. Luckily it just hit the floor (which is wood so easy to clean pee off it). It was just one of those days with him!

That has nothing to do with losing weight except that it's a miracle I didn't stress eat all day. Only he didn't really give me time to eat, I guess.
