Drop and give me 20 (pounds)!

I've been out of practice for far too long! I recently moved, switched jobs, and acquired a significant other. Stress from work and more time being devoted to my new boyfriend has left me skipping workouts and somehow I've ballooned up 20 pounds higher than I'd like to be.

My birthday is in September; I'd like to be back at least inside my comfort zone (ten pounds less from now) before then.

I've found that above 125 pounds, I tend to drop weight fairly easily. It starts to get tough around 125 --probably a combination of being just "those last ten pounds" that my body naturally wants to cling to and me being comfortable at 125 but not totally happy so the motivation is less. So I imagine I'll drop the first five to seven pounds pretty quickly, within the next two weeks if I do it right, and I don't think I'll find it too difficult. I have a feeling a lot of the "weight" is just some nasty junk food that I've been eating which is just hanging out. When I start eating more healthfully again, that plus working out will make a quick fix. The following five to ten pounds will be harder though.

So, I'm starting working out again with my Cathe DVDs! It's too hot to run where I live, and I'm self conscious anyway. Tomorrow I am going to have a small breakfast (natural applesauce, toast, and milk) go to work, have leftovers, come home, do the pyramid workout from the HiiT DVD, and then relax. I'm going to see if I can do some of the Butts and Guts DVD if I feel up to it later in the evening --I've always been more of a night-exerciser. I have a feeling I'll be tired, so maybe I'll try to just do either the standing exercises or floor, but not both?

I'm actually really excited to get back to working out. My body is screaming for me to be kind to it again.

When my roommate moves in in mid August, I'll have to stop my Cathe DVDs as our apartment is too small for all my equipment and another person, but hopefully by that point I'll be comfortable enough to get back to the gym, conveniently when I plan on renewing my membership in August. :)

Wish me luck!

I think I'll take Tuesday as an off day and try to do Body Max 2 on Wednesday. :) Maybe just the abbreviated cardio version if I'm more out of shape than I think I am... :p
