Drop 10 Friday Nov 16

Whew. What a day yesterday turned out to be. I'm learning a new test procedure at work and it is very complex. Put gloves on, put new gloves on, change gloves, bleach, put on new gloves. But really, it is a newer technology and different from anything we are doing and really fried my brain. Yesterday was first exposure. Today I'm supposed to do it by myself. I'm askeered.

I gave in and got on the scale. Just as I expected, the three pounds returned. But who cares. I will stay strong. I hope. Whimper.

Today is a rest day. I'm still loosely following Cathe's Nov rotation. I really like the 4DS as far as time usage goes, but I'm worried about not doing enough cardio.

Shelley and Michelle, did you guys get up early today? I got up about 15 minutes early, just because, and I thought of you both getting sweaty.

Michele, I agree with you about the personals. I enjoy what everyone has to say, but don't have to time to reply to each and everyone. I hope no one is offended by my lack of personal stuff. Thanks for reminding me about the leather teddy. It's been gathering dust and I do want the new workouts.}(

I have to scoot. I'm so out of touch from yesterday and to find out what important stuff I missed!

Have a pound-dropping day!

Morning Robin. I'm sure you'll do fine with your new procedure today:)

I'm not getting on the scale. I haven't been good this week. Oh, maybe I should get on, just to see how bad I've been. Blargh.

I didn't get up early today because Sophie is with her dad tonight, so I don't have to worry about rushing to squeeze in a workout. I'll do Drillmax when I get home from work.

HAPPY FRIDAY, melters!

Hi everyone here and those to follow!

I did get up at my usual time of 4:00 am and did a 40 minute I-Tread interval walk.. :) .

My HRM crapped out during my workout, when I looked down at one point it showed 00 as the heart ratex( . Then a couple of seconds later it showed 130.. go figure. I hope it is not getting bad, it's not quite 2 years old and I just put in a new battery in August.

I am taking a half day off from work today as DH is getting ready to go hunting this afternoon and I wanted to say goodbye to him! I have the house to myself this weekend and have all kinds of things planned that I usually don;t do, like sorting cosmetic junk and tossing the stuff I know I will never use!

Have a great day

Deb

;-)

Hi again! Deb, I hope your HRM isn't conking out on you! Have a fun weekend with the house to yourself! I love those:)

Well, I bit the bullet and got on the scale and surprise, surprise, I'm down another 1 1/2 pounds! How shocking. So that's 3 altogether. Just 7 more to go.

Good morning -

Well, I sure fell off the wagon last night. Those Hershey's Kisses I ate yesterday were only the tip of the iceberg. Mom has been baking tons of stuff for her church bake sale and Thanksgiving luncheon tomorrow. I walked in and wouldn't you know? Fudge. Big, thick, rich, creamy fudge. Somehow I managed to repress all thoughts of clean eating, weight gain, and general health while I gobbled down a gigantic piece. Well, maybe the PT will be nice to me today and let me work out a little harder this weekend. Sigh.

On the up side, I had a great lower body workout. I dusted off the parents' 20-year-old (or maybe older...), rusty weight bench - the kind with concrete-filled weights. I was able to do some quad lifts, ham curls and even some glute raises. It felt good. And no strain to the calf! Then I went home and did 30 minutes on the elliptical with high resistance to target the legs, plus about 15 minutes of floor exercises, mostly similar to those in GSL.

I forgot to weigh and/or measure last night. I'll have to do it this weekend.

Good luck to everyone for a happy, healthy weekend!

Hello Ladies!!

Glad you were thinking of us Robin -- even though both Shelley and I slept in !! I'm with you Shelley, I'm working out tonight. (However, I do wish I would have gotten up early). Way to go Deb, how on earth do you get up at 4:00?? :)

Okay, I stepped on the scale too. It did go down!! I'm down 1 1/2 pounds. I knew this weight would come off slow, I just didn't realize how slow!!

I'm so thrilled it is Friday. However, weekends are my downfall. So, I just stocked up on gum -- that seems to help keep my mouth busy. :)

Go Melters!!
Michelle

Melters:

The other day, I think on the Today show, they showed how to lose 10 pounds doing "simple" things. Eat all your sandwiches as "open sandwiches" using one slice of bread; switch your milk from whole to skim; etc. It made me laugh, because I already DO all those things. I wanted to jump into the TV and say -- AND THEN WHAT DO YOU DO??

I guess the answer is that there just isn't a "simple" way. That's why I'm so thankful I have all of you to lean on!!

Be strong!
Michelle

TGTGTGIF!!!! :D

So last night my fiancee and I got home at the same time and we went to the basement and worked out together! Well, he was on the treadmill and I did Cathe cardio. But it was so much fun! I felt like I pushed myself harder because he was there and I wanted to show off. ;-) So I didn't take as many breaks as I normally would have if I was by myself.

ANYWAY, I got on the scale this morning and it showed about .5 down (or 1.5 lbs since we started). I consider that a good thing. I know from my days of doing WW that when I do weights, the lbs. either creep down sloooooowly or not at all. So I'm not sweating it.

Robin - GOOD LUCK today!! :)

Shelley - WAY TO GO!!!! I have to admit I'm a little jealous.. :p

Deb - 4 a.m.?? I had trouble getting up at 5:30 a.m. when I was doing it in the morning.. which reminds me I'll have to do a.m. workouts next week if I hope to get any exercise in at all. Our busy season at work has started so I'll be working late starting next week. No way I'll want to come home late and then work out. :( Also, good luck with your HRM. That's actually what I asked for for Christmas!

Michele - I, too, agree about the personals. I always check in when I'm at work so I barely ever have the time to do them. But I read everyone's posts.. Know that I celebrate the good with you and lament the disappointments..

Hello to everyone else!! Have a great day!

:+

Hello Melters!!

Well, I gained 0.8# this week BUT I lost a 1/2" off my waist. I have no idea what any of this means but I'll keep plugging away -- lol!!!

The realization that I am preparing Thanksgiving dinner has finally sunk in and I am entering FULL PANIC MODE. http://www.x64bit.net/site/board/style_emoticons/default/panic.gif

I've roasted a turkey before but I've never prepared the entire feast by myself. Anyhoo, I need to get a good bit of the grocery shopping done today. I don't have a pan big enough to roast a dang turkey so I need to go out and buy one x(

In the midst of all this, I've got someone coming to measure my family room for new carpet first thing Monday morning. I'm panicking about this, too, because I can't find carpet I like. I have a kazillion samples here and I don't like ANY of them. I suck at stuff like this http://bestsmileys.com/clueless/1.gif

Okay, I have just succeeded in making myself a wreck -- lol!!! Seriously though, I need to get going. I have several errands to run and they're scattered between 2 counties ;( . I'll BBL if I can.

Have a great day everyone, and my sincere congratulations to the losers :p ;) :D

Good Morning All!

Yes, thank you for taking me off the hook regarding personals, it gets really tough, but as you all know, my good eats, melting down thoughts are with you all!:)

So last night I poured myself a glass of wine, took a few sips and tossed it! I really didn't want it, I think I was just feeling sorry for myself. I did indulge a little yesterday, I had some peanut butter straight from the jar-I have a hard time with my beloved PB, its hard to stop at a few tablespoons but I did.:7 I am going to work on NOT thinking about losing weight and eating right and go about my merry way today. Sometimes those things you obsess or think about all the time, can get "bigger and bigger"-at least for me, it starts making me nuts.x(

See guys? You lost weight, even though you were so sure you had gained! Congrads to you. And Robin, remember it could be water weight, who knows? Fight the good fight, and oh, your work sounds so interesting, what is it that you do again? Wow.

I did Fluidity last night even though I was tired, it was okay...today is cardio and a circuit type workout, maybe I will tackle BodyMax or Bootcamp?}(

Back very briefly to tell Michele: Go get one of those disposable pans for your turkey, unless you cook huge roasts and stuff on a regular basis, you really do not need to buy a good one. I buy two of the cheap ones, double them up so your bird doesn't wind up on the floor when you take it out of the oven!:7

Well gosh darn it, I just rechecked my weight and now it shows a 1.2# loss since last Friday. WTH!?!?!? I know, I probably shouldn't have weighed myself again, but I was surprised by the gain this morning. I mean, I've been good (well, except for my anniversary last weekend), and I haven't missed any workouts, so why would I gain weight? Oh, and while I was at it I rechecked my waist measurement and it's 1/4" smaller. So, which wt/measurement is accurate? I don't know, but I'm sure as he!! going with the smaller numbers :p

ETA that after my first weight check I ate a full breakfast and drank nearly a quart of water, so why did my weight go down 3 hours later? Maybe we shouldn't weigh ourselves first thing in the morning? I think I'm going to check my weight twice every Friday, 3 hours apart, and see if I get similar results.

Cuz - you've just proved that the scale *can* lie! Or at least it has trouble making up its mind. LOL. Definitely take the lower numbers!

Your weight goes up and down throughout the day, I swear I am tossing my friggin scale-I am sick of my own self-inflicted weekly (or daily) drama with it. I never used to do be this way, until I lost that "weight" after surgery...my whole adult life I have weighed the same, give or take 3 pounds, I have always worked out and stayed in shape-always, except after my surgery, I just walked a little, and slept. I ate though, probably less than I do now because I wasn't active and as hungry. I lost an inch in my thighs, probably muscle, because now, they are back to what I normally am and look firmer. I just liked feeling "smaller" for those few months, maybe I will ditch the weights, walk just a little each day and sleep-oh, and not eat at all.:)
Maybe I have the body type that loses size when I do not lift weights?I have always lifted weights up until my surgery and time off, so hum, maybe that was it, I shrunk.
Some folks get mushy and gain bodyfat when they do not lift...I don't know, I wish I could figure it out.
Sigh. I am sorry to "dump", I should be happy with my body and what it can do-I just powered through the original IMAX with no problem.:7

Again, if any of you have some wisdom to shed on this, please feel free to let me have it! And a great day to all!

Michele, congrads on your loss!:7

Hi everyone. I gained 1.2 lb since last weighing in (2 weeks ago). x(

I am feeling fairly positive, though, since I started doing better the last couple days and have sort of recommitted myself. The bad weigh-in only confirms my commitment.

I am feeling fairly negative in another sense, though, because I think I have a migraine coming on today. I smelled the scent I smell before migraines (I have olfactory hallucinations instead of a visual aura before migraines). I also feel kind of lightheaded so I'm just waiting for it to come on full-strength. Today Isaac got out of school early and there are parent-teacher conferences this afternoon. I sent DH to do it since I am fearing the migraine. Oh, and I also have a low fever--Ewan has been feverish as well the last couple days.

Wish me luck. May be back to do personals later, but I'm glad I haver permission not to do them. :)
