Dricore for home gym floor

We are planning a home gym in the basement which does have some moisture issues. I have read tons of posts saying that a sprung floor is the best way to go and it seems that Dricore would solve both those problems. Has anyone used it? What do you think?

Also what is the best material to put over it? Carpet, laminate, cork or engineered hardwood. I was also looking into rubber but it is expensive and may be overkill (it also doesn't look that great since it only comes in black).

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

If you're planning on putting in cardio equipment, treadmill for example, then I wouldn't go with carpet. My gym has laminate. It has held up well to the weight of all the equipment, is easy to clean and is not at all slippery which is great. Downside, it's a little hard on the knees when you do floor work so you'll need a good mat and I dropped a heavy dumbell recently and somehow managed to chip the floor. :) oh well.... it happens right!

This Dricore looks great! I just had to rip up all my carpeting in my basement due to moisture issues and now have a cement floor covered in old glue. If you do go with this I truly would love to hear how you like it. I am going to Home Depot and checking it out. A Big Thank You for posting about it. Peggy

Lora (BTW my middle name is Kate, weird huh?), have you seen the Tileflex floor? They're interlocking tiles for home gyms. They look like a wood laminate but they're actually vinyl with some kind of springy rubber under them.

I just got them, I'm putting them down this w/e. I put basement carpet padding down for a sub floor, but I hear it's gonna disintegrate within a year with the Tileflex so I'm glad you posted this--I suppose next year I'll replace the padding with dricore. :)
