Dressing for work!!

Maybe something is wrong with me, but I cant stand to see people dress drab and dull in the workplace. I understand that there are workplace ethics and rules but why do some people dress like having a body is sinful. They wear big, odious clothing that makes them look like they are wearing a potato sack. Sometimes I wanna say, hey give the Salvation Army back there clothes or wow, you must be lucky to have a thrift shop near you.

I guess I just love to see people wearing form fitting clothes rather than stuff that drapes their body. I love women who wear those tight, short skirts and pants, looking sexy and alluring...not skanky. Whats your take on this?

Well, I wouldn't feel at all comfortable wearing a tight, short skirt to work. And I'm not sure that the workplace is the right environment for "sexy and alluring". I like nice clothes, but I think form-fitting, sexy and alluring are best left for extra-curricular activities.:)

Corporate dress codes would never allow it! Nor would I feel comfortable in tight or short clothes at work, although I can honestly say I don't wear baggy potato sack clothes either. There's a happy medium that most women find I think.

I don't know why, but I just love this 'womanly' dressing for work. I have always wanted to dress sexy....ever since watching Ally Mcbeal. I think its empowering in fact.

I personally do not care what others wear to thier jobs. Unless a person is in danger of being arrested for indecent exposure it never bothered me in the least what others were wearing. :)

As far as how I dressed when I worked outside of the home...it all depended on my job, the dress code there, etc. I've worn nothing but jeans and shorts and other super casual fare but I've also worn skirts and slacks, etc. I've never had the need to dress in things like suits and such and wouldn't ever want to, UGH! lol

I prefer my clothing to fit on the snug side. It's just what I happen to like on myself. Not super tight though...that is not comfortable to me. :)

I wanted to feel comfortable in what I was wearing. I wanted to like my clothes and look my best w/o "going over the line" in any direction.

I may have worn clothes that were too "sexy" in the work place for some tastes but to me, my clothes were not over the top at all. My chest wasn't exposed and when I would wear a skirt, it was certainly of a respectable length and didn't look like one that I would wear out dancing that friday night. ;)

I do like form fitting in the sense that the outfit fits properly and the person just looks well put together. I don't think sexy and alluring are adjectives I would associate with the workplace. I mean, I think a woman can certainly be sexy in a great suit or what have you, but I don't think it is the point in the office. I think those outfits are best reserved for other adventures, unless your job is not necessarily in the office..ahem.

Live with sincerity, love with passion, and dance like you mean it.

Couldn't do it. I have enough trouble being taken seriously as a youthful-looking, petite woman. My authority would be totally undermined if I started dressing like Alley McBeal.

Although I might actually get a date. ;) Except I don't have time for dating b/c I work too many hours wearing baggy, shapeless clothing.

In my opinion there is nothing more flattering on either a man or a woman than a perfectly tailored suit. The right suit can make anyone look like a million bucks. When you wear a well-tailored suit (that's the right color for you) to work, you look as professional as can be, and you also look your most attractive at the same time. No need to choose!

I agree with Nancy. Well tailored and fitted suits are quite attractive. I personally prefer separates because of my job. I don't have to wear suits, however, I do enjoy well fitting jackets, sweaters, skirts and pants. Still feel professional and feminine. Of course one MUST wear "killer" shoes.:) People love to check out my shoes!!:)
