Amy,
If it motivates you then do keep one. As most of the time you'll lose inches first. But if that zipper isn't zipping up and it happens to be the bust area that it stops before going all the way up, that's a pretty high gamble that you'd lose that much in your breasts.
But the best way to kind of have a guestimate is to look back the past week/months that you've been working out and seen how many inches you've lost. As well as how much you've worked out. If you want to lose 30 pounds, that's 15 weeks of exercising at the very less, and having a very very strict diet with no cheating. As each cheat over 250 calories, basically killed your diet for that day, and if you miss a workout, that's an extra 2-3 workouts you must do to reach your goal for missing that one. So it's a bit more complexed then saying, I have x amount of weeks and I'll lose 2 pounds a week. Most of the time that only happens when you start exercising and eating healthy and getting rid of that junk. The better in shape you already are as well as already eat healthy the longer it will take to lose 1 lb, and it won't be 1 lb a week.
As to lose one pound a week you need a 500 calorie gap. From you daily calories, usually you do this by both diet and exercise. To lose 2lbs per week, you need 1000 calorie gap in your daily calories, much harder to do, and eat healthy and not run yourself into the ground.
So really look hard at your situation, if you want to lose 30 pounds give it at least 30 weeks. So if you do end up losing two pounds a week for the first few weeks, just consider it a bonus, as those last few pounds take a lot to come off and it's mostly because by that time your eating healthy, there really isn't anything to cut out or cut back on your diet anymore. And your working to your max, and when this happens that calorie gap, slowly decreases, so you end up having to work out for two weeks to lose 1 pound instead of losing it in one week.
My athletics all run into that wall, the better shape your in and the better you eat. The more time it takes to lose a pound. It’s only when your overweight, eat horribly, and don’t workout. That you can get up, start working out and eating healthy and drop 2 lbs or more a week. But once your body gets active it, those pounds come off slower and slower. So that might make a difference, if you aren’t giving yourself enough time for that deadline, you may not make it and then have 3 dresses and none you can wear, and will still have to buy a 4th dress, for that wedding. I’ve seen women do this a ton of times. Thinking that they got 15 weeks and can lose two pounds per week and be able to slide under the fence. More times then not, they run into the fence.
HTH,
Kit
