Hey Sharon,

SNM will probably give more information but here is my experience with the couple of downloads I got. Yes they play on windows media, but you cannot burn them onto a DVD.

The downloads were not made for that purpose and the m4v doesn't work on a DVD. This is why I'm going to stick with DVD's b/c I'd rather put my money into the DVD instead of the extra stuff it could take in order to hook something up to your TV.

Also I don't workout in a gym anymore nor am I doing any major travelling. If you are fine with watching it on your PC then go for it, but you won't be able to make DVD's out of them.

Hope this helps a little :(

I'll see if I can explain this for you. To play our downloads on a PC and use Windows Media Player you will need Windows 7 as your operating system. You can not use Windows Media Player on an XP machine and play our downloads. Instead you need to use Quick Time or Microsoft's Zune software. Both are free downloads.

With the release of the WB you will be able to play your Cathe Downloads using our patent pending (we have to keep saying this for legal reasons) Workout Blender at full screen size. Even if you're not interested in making premixes the WB makes it simple and easy for any PC user to play any of our downloads without audio or video sync problems. The WB will work on XP, Vista, and Windows 7 PC's.

Still, the best way to watch our downloads is to download them to any computer and then sync them to an iPod through iTunes. Then you just plug your iPod into a TV and start working out.

This is misleading. I just created a DVD compilation of Stretch Max And Total Body Stretching. I just dragged the files (.m4v) into my DVD creation software and clicked the big red "Burn DVD" button and voila!

The reason I am burning my downloads is simply because I have STS on DVD and the downloads on my ipod and not enough inputs on my TV. So by burning the downloads to DVD I can switch in the DVD to do my stretch instead of switching cables behind the DVD to connect the iPod.

Works great. Easy to do. Quality is fine enough for a workout DVD.

I wonder if this is the sticking point -- while it might work okay, it doesn't sound like it's the best quality. That would not work for me at all. It would bug the heck out of me, in fact.

Thanks Nancy

That's what I meant about burning them to a DVD, is that the quality is not going to be as good and that would bug me too.

Also SNM has said before that by burning the downloads onto the DVD you lose chapter points as well, so there not nearly as good as having the DVD or download.

Thanks to all - I would actually far prefer to have the DVD's but its a problem being in the UK - getting them shipped is expensive because we have to pay import tax on anything over $30 - adding that to the shipping fee it would probably end up costing me $35 for each DVD so I would only buy them 1 at a time to keep the cost down- the download option seems to be the best way to go for me - and, although everyone of you will not believe this, I do not own a TV!!!!! Nothing but rubbish to watch most of the time - I love needlework so when I am not working out I am stitching or crocheting or doing something on my pc....lol...keeps the brain ticking over nicely

Hello,
I don't know if this helps anyone, but I have been opening multiple .mv4 files with quicktime player and switching between them without problem. Also, I got a video switch such as this one from amazon and just turn the dial without having to switch the cables on the TV.

I have been using my other downloads without having to burn to DVD and like the system very much.

Are you imagining that it would be blurry or distorted in some way? That's not the kind of quality difference we are talking about. It's not Avatar, you are lying on the floor doing push-ups. My experience is that quality difference is not noticeable. I suppose one would just have to try it on their setup... I choose "Best Quality" option before burning.

It's also just a backup of the download which will eventually go on my multi-media drive and DVDs will go in the basement with all those CDs.

I think the sticking point will be different for different people. For me its that Workout Blender will only work with downloads.

I do mine this way - I have a wireless media player that I connect to my pc via wireless -
Asus O!Play Air http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Play-Air...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1280956581&sr=8-2
I don't have a big hard drive (plus I like to have backups) so I have a external hard drive -
Western Digital 1TB http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digit...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1280956597&sr=8-1

I can play my downloads on my 52" TV screen and they are pretty good quality! I have about 15 Cathe downloads.

now, that is pretty cool Rozy -- wireless from your PC(laptop?) to the TV!
I was just going to set my laptop next to my TV and plug some cable(don't know what yet) to play my downloads, and probably bypass my ipod most of the time--at least that is what I;m going to experiment first before I make my preorder purchase!

I even have a program called ISO recorder that I use to create dvd images (from the dvds I own) that i can play from my pc to my media player to my tv instead of having to use my dvd player...for instance I did slow and heavy legs today then I switched right over to butts and gutts leg presses then abs - without having to switch dvds :) (I guess if you have a multi dvd player that would do the same thing but I don't :p

oooh, that sounds cool, too, but, I don't usually have enough time and energy to do 2 DVD's! lol. There have been some really interesting options here that I want to checkout. Rozy, sounds like you can do premixes, too by recording portions(like chapters), huh? They can be other instructors, too?
I am about 95% Cathe, though! So, the WB would be good for me.

I bet other instructors will jump on the Cathe wannabe band wagon and make downloads. I bet the industry will make something(if not already done) that does DVD editting to combine chapters from various DVDs....
