DOMS for 3 months????

I am very excited and a whole lot scared of STS but I did my preorder and I AM GOING TO DO THIS!!!!

I am just wondering though, with 3 months of heavy, mixed up weight training, am I looking at 3 months of DOMS?? That's a wee bit off putting. I know all the change is good but can be a bit painful sometimes. I am very excited to see how much I can actually lift. I know I am stronger than I think. I tend to do a workout then go a little heavier the next time and when I'm sore the next day, I back off the next time, which I know it isn't right. As long as I can complete it, in good form, the wts are not too heavy. I'm just a wimp when in comes to DOMS. I know it will get better and it always does if I just keep on movin' and improvin' but 3 months. Owie!!

No, you really shouldn’t have DOMS for three months, but you will probably have them for a week or two the first time you do STS. With STS we pay a lot of attention to making sure you have adequate rest between sets. The higher the intensity the greater the rest.

Proper rest between sets greatly reduces DOMS. Also, with STS we slowly increase the intensity in a step by step manner over time and this method also helps to reduce DOMS. Meso #1- Legs seems to have been the leader of pack in producing DOMS in our test groups and rehearsals. Even Cathe had them. But once you get through Meso#1 the occurrences of DOMS should be reduced.

STS Test Groups

We’ve said all along that we’ve used test groups for STS, but the purpose of these groups is not to track results. You can find several threads from me on this in this forum.

Unless you have a qualified independent organization conduct a controlled scientific study the results of any test are meaningless.
Variables such as diet, motivation, consistency, lifestyle and physical activity outside of the study are almost impossible to control and will greatly influence the results of any study. The purpose of our test groups is not to measure results, but to help us workout any kinks and improve the actual workouts. We don’t use our test groups for marketing purposes; they’re only used to help us make our workouts better.

RE: STS Test Groups

I think there is some confusion over the words "test group" and what they mean to most people.

I think from reading some of SNM responses a "test group" is just being used to help create STS and help Cathe to decide what excercises work best and in what order. Possibly the "test group" are the background participants in the videos.

To most people a "test group" is a group of people who have used a finished system and results are measured at the end.

Not sure if I'm making any sense but I'm starting to see some irate responses over this topic.
