Domino's new product...

Does anyone use or ever tried Domino's new sugar product called Sugar D'Lite?

I was holding on to a coupon for this for weeks waiting for my food store to stock this stuff. I figured I'd check it out to see how it compared to Splenda because if it was a better deal I'd switch.

WELL, I finally found it today...it's a LOT cheaper than Splenda but is still more expensive than regular sugar AND it's only 5 cals less per serving then regular sugar.

I really don't know what the point is either...so can't help you there!!

I checked out their website and it seems it's a combination of regular sugar and sugar substitute so it's less calories than sugar, but it can still be used like regular sugar (for baking, etc.) while most sugar substitutes cannot.

So, I guess it's good for reducing calories, but to me it's just replacing one evil for another. If I'm going to indulge I would want the real deal and adjust my portions accordingly. I'm just not too fond of artificial anything. But that's just me!

I can totally understand your dislike of artificial sweeteners... Before Splenda I couldn't handle them. I hated them pretty much and so I resisted trying Splenda for a LOOONG time! When I finally broke down and gave Splenda a try (thanks to hearing so much about it here!) I didn't think I'd stick with it but I got used to it and now I'm hooked! I only use it in my coffee but I drink LOTS of coffee!}(
