Doing big girl stuff now, advanced workouts

Hey Everyone,

I can now call myself advanced. I'm doing weight per weight, just as Cathe is doing. Hard hard work, but I'm managing to do it. WOW!! I'm so excited. Push and Pull and Cardio and Weights I've got down, now on to even bigger stuff. I'm Ready!

Cardio, with Rhymic Step is almost there. Just a couple more attempts and I know I will be able to match Cathe. I never thought I'd get there, took me a couple years, but I'm here.

Now I'll be able to do rotations, with everyone else, and enjoy the benefits of being strong and healthy. My Dream!

Anyone else out there that is newly advanced? Love to here from you. Post it please, you deserve good wishes.

Janie

Holy Crappolla!! That's awesome Janie!   :7 :7 :7
I can keep up with the cardio (barely) but I can. Weight for weight,, not on everything. But, I am ready to buy heavier dumbells!! YAY!! :7
Once I get them, I am going to try and see how much further I have ot go to match her. I am amazed at the progress I have made in a short time. It is a great feeling.
You go girl!!

Catherine,

Still struggling with them, but, I'm getting stronger and able to do more on my high chair. Three sets I do now for chin ups and pull ups.

Thanks Catherine,

Janie

Totally cool! I was excited when I was finally able to keep up with Rhythmic Step but I still don't feel comfortable giong pounds for pound in Cathe's weight training DVDs. However, You haev inspired me to give a shot. :) Congrats!

Thank you so much for the support. I know that it is important to have it, because it helps keep me going. I'm so excited about this, and if I can inspire anyone to do more, or better, or whatever the case may be, then hey, It's worth posting. On April 1st, I turned 55 years old, and I'm way ahead of everyone as old as I am. I don't know anyone that likes to do the things I do, so I turn to you for support, you have never let me down.

Yesterday, was my first time trying Step Blast (I watched it the night before, so there were no surprises), I did it all the way through on a 4" step, just to see how it feels. It went very well, I got through all of it, yes, there is a but, it was harder than I thought, and more complex. I barely kept up. Next time I'll do it on a 4" step again to get a better feel for it, then a 6" step next time around. Today I will be attempting Legs & Glutes. (O boy).

Isn't it great how success can change you? Lots of fun hard work, but I'm up for it.

I finally master RS and SB after shelving RS for years because it was so complex. After doing Cathe's workouts so faithfully I can do them in my sleep :), I tried it again, obsessesing with it for several weeks and now both are a breeze. Once you've learned the choreography, there's no going back. I no longer go pound for pound with Cathe especially when she reaches for 20's and 25's and there are some muscle groups where I cannot like triceps and shoulders. I am an ectomorph and don't have those incredible muscles Cathe has but today my husband was looking at my left arm and laughed and said, "Look at those muscles". I'll never be bulky but I AM well-muscled. :D I have been doing Cathe since 95 or 96. I like 10, 8 and 5's for shoulders and triceps. I have finally developed my tricep as well as my bicep but that was really difficult for me. I don't reach for 20's and 25's because I'll tear a limb off, LOL! In fact, I usually only go to 12 and 15 for heavy training. I think everyone should try it once though and if you can do it, go for it!

Bobby,

You look absolutely fantastic! How do you do it? Thank you so much for the kind words in the last two posts. It's nice to know there are people like us out there.

Take care,

That's totally cool!!!

I am no where near what Cathe is up to Pound for pound, but I am so excited that I was actually able to run by Academy Sports on Monday to purchase 12 lb dumbbells!!!

I am not a new advanced, but I am a new Cathe-ite!

Congrats!!!

Amy

Janie, thank YOU! Your enthusiasm is so wonderful it's inspirational. :) I inherited my lean, lankiness from my dad and the rest is strickly thanks to Cathe's amazing body of work. With so many excellent workouts to take us through each rotation whether we are training heavy, or moderate, going crazy for cardio or more moderate, how can we lose? I love cardio the best but I respect strength training and appreciate how it allows me to stay slim and strong as I go head for my mid-forties. People always think I'm younger than my 43 years, unless they area being kind. ;) I think it's because staying trim and toned is more youthful looking. Could just be I move so darned quickly they have a hard time getting a good look. LOL! Did you see Cathe may be starting the new series in August? Yoo hoo!
