Does this sound familiar?

Good morning all- OK, here's my question. So I am finally starting to lose some weight (been fairly faithful on South Beach- lost about 14 lbs.) I've added exercise back in (did BC for the first timelast night and LOVED LOVED LOVED it!) and am feeling pretty good. Then I get on the scale this morning and I'm up three pounds. Now in my head I know it's not real weight, probably just water of whatever but I get so bummed that I eat a bagel for breakfast and two cookies!! Why do I do that? Anyone else? I'm thinking I should just throw my scale out and stop focusing on a number! ARGHH!

Anyway, it feels great to be working out again and feeling strong and it is amazing how quickly the body gets stronger again. After only a couple of weeks I can feel my strength coming back. I've been doing a rotation with the Pyramids and various cardio.

Thanks for "listening". Have a great day!!

Working out with weights can cause a slight weight gain in the beginning but it should go back down with in a week or so...

HTH. :)

I can totaly relate. I am doing Cathe August rotations and eating less for the past week and after all that work my weight also went up by a pound. Hopefully its like Wendy says and it will eventually go down

I second the toss out the scale notion. They are totally inacurate as to how much fat you have lost. If I weighed the same as I do now but didn't work out I would probably be up 3 dress sizes becasue I would have fat and not muscle.

Measure your fatloss by looking in the mirror. It doesn't lie (even when we want it to!!!)

I agree with Mary...TOSS THE SCALE!! Scales are EVIL!! Go by how your clothes fit and/or take measurements.

Thanks for all the responses!! My clothes do fit much better and I feel much better (which should be what I go by :) )

Have a great day all!

Yeah, lose the scale (or don't use it as much). In the two years I've been working out with Cathe, I'm up about 11 lbs. My 4's are loose and I can fit in a 2, the vanity 0's and even girl's size 16 or XL. My upper body has been going the opposite direction, but very, very slowly. As you lose fat and gain muscle your body shape changes, so go by your clothes.
