RE: Rhonda check out www.fitnessinfomercialreview.com

bluediamond, I checked it out thanks, I am really hopeful that I will be able to get to my goal with MIS, Terminator, AB hits that I already have, and the Winsor Pilates AB sculpting and winsor Pilates Buns and thighs I ordered. If not then I will try something else. Thanks so much for the web site :7 ....... Thanks again bless you.. Rhonda :7 :7

I haven't tried it, but a lot of folks at Video Fitness and FIRM Ya-Yas absolutely LOVE some of these tapes. They seem to really like Debbie Siebers. From the comments I've read, my general take on the series is as follows:

1) Power 90 - Tapes are kind of boring, and not that effective. Save your money.

2) Slim in 6 - Fun, but targetted more towards beginners. I think if you're used to Cathe, then these may be too easy for you.

3) Slim Series - Great set of workouts. Very fun and the exercises are varied. Different from Cathe, because it uses lighter weights and faster reps. I think they said it's a mix of high and low impact. Well worth the $$$.

Also, do a search on Slim Series or Power 90 at videofitness.com, you will find A LOT more comments about these workouts. :)

I only have the Slim Series and can't really comment on the true effectiveness since I've only been doing them for 2 weeks, but I'll pass along my observations/comments. Overall I'm really enjoying them! After Cathe, I think Debbie has surpassed even Mindy Mylrea as my 2nd favorite instructor. She's just cute and down-to-earth. For some background, I generally use 8-10 lb dumbells for most Cathe shoulder work and 12 or 15 lb dumbells for bicep work. With the SS, I use mostly 5 lb dumbells for everything, started incorporating 8's for some bicep and chest work, and may even up that to 10lbs. There are one or two exercises that I have to dust off my 3lb dumbells for. My upper body feels fatigued during the workouts, but other than some general shoulder area tiredness the next day I havent been sore. I miss feeling sore so I just started incorporating the PS series and cardio (my rotation is posted on Cathe's rotation forum). I initially did the SS only for a week, but it left me feeling tired. What I really love about the SS is the lower body work. I have a knee problem and simply can't lift heavy, so the increased reps and lower weights is excellent. My first SS week I had sore hamstrings for days and the front of my quads were sore for almost a week from one stinkin' floor exercise using 1 lb ankle weights! The workouts contain a count-down timer which some people dont like, but I love b/c it keeps me motivated to work thru a set that is frying me b/c I know exactly how much time I left. Although the website may say these have "cardio" in them, I think it's a tad misleading. Only a few of the workouts have what I would consider true cardio and they are only short segments at a time of some kickboxing moves or some jumping jacks. But, that being said, this series definitely elevates my heart rate and leaves me sweating!! For example, she elevates your heart rate by doing a high rep lunge sequence. Overall, I'm really glad I purchased this set!! Sorry this is so long!

what is the website of YaYa's and have you ever heard of Allegro's? it that a website too? one last Q, where did u get that cute avator/icon. i see a lot of that but different types of women. i want to have my own too! is there a website for that?

I had gotten the Power 90 and HATED it - music was awful, and the instructor and exercises were BORING. I think I only stuck with it for about two weeks or so but just couldn't go any further as the tapes were so DULL!!! I just ordered the Slim Series, though, because everyone seems to RAVE about them!!

spottyd --- i also ordered Slim Series!

i was thinking about purchasing Power90 because there are more cardio segments. i think Slim Series is primarily toning with few cardio bursts. however, since most reviews seem to be raving about SS, i ended up buying a kit for myself! hope we made a good purchase and get results!

Slim Series Works

Hello!
Just my 2-cents on the Slim Series...

I love the Slim Series and if anyone is on the fence about ordering them, I suggest they give them a whirl.

My personal experience with them: I have been using a rotation of 3-4 Slim Series per week for about a month now and I have noticed results! My arms have more definition and my pants are looser. I have also started to see some better definition in my abs. I am not certain of actual inches lost since, I have not measured myself recently. I have lost about 2 pounds since starting the program as well. (but, I have not changed my diet to get the full benefits. Lord knows I could use work in that area to clean it up...).

Before I started using the Slim Series I used Cathe's tapes and was use to the heavy weights and the intense cardio workouts. I consider my self a lower-Advanced level, some days an upper-Intermediate. In this series I pretty consistently use 5lbs weights; sometimes I grab the 3 & 8lb-ers depending on the exercise.

I'm hooked right now on "Shape it Up" which gives me an awesome total body workout and really hits the quads hard. All the videos are good cardiovascularly - Although you won't be gasping for air, you will at times find yourself heavily breathing. It is intense in it's own way and will definitely make you sweat.

Sorry this is so long.

Good Luck!
Christy

RE: Slim Series Works

I can't speak for all of the Beachbody products, but I do know that the Slim Series does work! I lost a size in 4.5 weeks and I noticed new definition in my arms. I love Debbie Siebers (almost as much as I love Cathe!:* )
