Does P90X for toning only?

Has anyone used P90X successfully to look more toned but without building a lot of muscle "bulk"? I am interested in purchasing it to tone up but not bulk up!
 
I think "bulk" comes from the heaviness of the weights you choose to use... If you go liter weights and follow Tonys cues of 12-15 reps you would find it hard to bulk.(women find it difficult to bulk anyway) He coaches that to "build" go heavy and strive for 8-10 reps (to fatigue). So YES it is a good purchase for toning.
If you were doing Cathes SH series w/ very heavy weights you'd get the same type of muscle growth.

The lean rotation is great for losing the extra fat. I haven't seen any real muscle bulking but some AWESOME definition & size changes.
 
Well, I'm not sure if you would call what I've achieved toning or bulking. I personally don't think I'm bulky. I don't really look "muscley", unless I'm flexing.

And I agree that you can achieve whatever you want from it, depending on what weight you choose to lift.
