I have a candle manufacturer. We make candles with pictures, photos, logos, etc. We actually suplly to Wal Mart Photo Center is Canada. Next year, we might get into Wal Mart USA. But for now, we do Wal Mart Canada and Puerto Rico. I actually enjoy dealing with them. I dealt with so many companies and Wal Mart works fast. They introduce our product in only few weeks, comparing to others that take years. They advertise our candles more than any other company. We manufacture them in Quebec, Canada and they buy from us. Not true that they don't support the locals. Why everybody always react that Wal Mart is going to ruin us... they actually help us. The good thing is that since we only do personalized, they don't buy a quantity of the same image, only when a customer order. So there is no risk that they return all unsold products because they only order, when the customer order! Why do people discourage me instead of congratulate me? I think it's great. They are helping us grow. Anyhow, just wondering if you all have also such a bad image about Wal Mart! I am so proud of my company and people try to discourage me.... mmmmmm.... why??? I worked so hard since the last 6 years. I was poor for so long. Anyhow, just wanted to share...

Congratulations on your success! It's a very big deal to have your stuff sold at Walmart, and I, personally, think it's a very good thing. We've had various threads about "big-bad" Walmart before, and it comes down to individual beliefs, politics, etc. Don't let that hamper you from enjoying your success of which you should be very proud! Way to go!

I agree with cakebaker. Congratulations on your success!! I'm not fond of Walmart mainly because the store that is in my town is dirty and the customer service is poor. I have heard bad things about how they do business but this is not from first hand experience. If your experience with them has been positive then I wouldn't let the negative get to you.

Best of Luck to you!

I agree with Jane. I have nothing against Wal-Mart as a company. However, I have NEVER been in a Wal-Mart that didn't look like a flea market or like a tornado just went through it. I'm happy that your experience has been positive. Congratulations!:)

I have many issues with Walmart and refuse to shop there, but I won't get into that debate here.

I just want to say that I think it's great that they are so receptive to your product and being so easy to work with. Congratulations on being so successful! :) I think that's a great accomplishment, and I'm sorry that people are raining on your parade.

I LOVE WAL-MART!!! I would die without one. I do all my shopping there, grocery and odds-n-ends. It is so convenient to go to one store and get everything I need and at great prices too. I worked at a Wal-mart for almost a year before I joined the Army and I loved it. Everyone was so nice, it was fun, and I liked at the morning meetings how we would do the Wal-Mart Cheer really loud in the store. My brother has been working for Wal-Mart for about 7 years now right out of high school. He is 25 years old and is an Assistant Manager and makes really good money. We've always had good dealings with Wal-mart. Also, at the store I worked at we always did creative things to make money for the Children's Miracle Network. Sure I don't like the old small stores either because they are dirty and dark but all the Supercenters are great. They are big, bright, and clean. Every business has it's weaknesses and strengths. I guess I've been lucky to always live by a good Wal-Mart.

Darine, I have heard stories about Walmart starting out well selling an individuals product. Then they supposedly start making all kinds of demands that lower the price and eventually the quality of the product. I don't know if the stories are true. Good luck and congratulations on your current success.

Let me start by saying congratulations on your success! I also own my own business (pet sitting) and I understand the work involved.

As far as Wal Mart goes, they have done a lot of good for a lot of people. I am so tired of hearing how they ruin small towns. There was a report on the radio (npr?) a while back about how Wal Mart has gotten rid of (through competition) so many awful "mom and pop" markets that overprice and sell mediocre, even rotten foods. Many elderly people had to depend on these places for food before Wal Mart came along.

While I don't shop at Wal Mart (bad customer service, very crowded), it is my choice not to. I have no problem with the franchise, and even if I did, I have no right to do anything about it.

I love walmart too. I should be a spokesperson for them , I am there so much and most of my clothes are from walmart. people ask me all the time that is cute where did you get it, walmart , after a while they automatically would say you got that at walmart didnt you. I wouldnt know what to do without a walmart.

IMO:

Walmart's is great and is the type of company that makes our country the greatest in the world and our economy the greatest in the world. It helps so many people who are able to save money by shopping there. It helps people and towns by creating jobs. It is a great stock that benefits people whose pension and retirement programs own the stock. It generates huge tax revenues for various governments - federal/state income taxes on the company's profits, federal/state income taxes on the employees' income, state sales taxes, federal/state income taxes on the companies that supply the goods or transport the goods that are sold there. While it puts some small businesses out of business because they can't compete with it, yours is an example of a small business that has benefited from Walmarts. People have common sense and many people choose to save money by shopping there and to earn a living being employed there. While I could say a lot about the criticisms people have of the company, I won't since I think most of us come to these forums for non-political discussions. If you google walmart's, you'll find out all the reasons people cite for Walmart deficiencies.
Congrats on your success.
