Does anyone work out at work?

Because I have two children who are very demanding at ages 1 1/2 and 3, and a husband who does not like to excersize with videos; I have taken most of my excersize equipment to my office and work out there. Does anyone else do this?

i work in a fairly large hospital..26 flights of stairs...it is a cardio and lower body w/o both. i do one flight single steps and the next flight, where i step on every other step{skip a step}..now thats a thigh and butt killer!!

I used to do it for a while at my old job because we had a fitness center and it was so nice to have a huge aerobics room all to myself (I went in at 5:00 a.m.). But I wasn't too keen on lugging my work clothes in and showering, getting ready there.

Now I work where I'd have no place to do it. But it's a good idea.

We have a small fitness center and since I've been diagnosed with PF that won't seem to go away I do most of my cardio here at lunch on the bike.

I do sort of.....

Ive replaced my office chair with my stability ball and now sit on that.

When I first started doing that, I found it surprisonaly hard and it was a constant check on myself not to slouch, or let my abs droop, but now I have to say Im pretty good at maintaining my posture and the bonus is, I dont get a sore back, or stiff neck as much anymore after a long day.

Hmmmmm - now your question has got me thinking I could proberly do some ball exercises in my breaks as well................trouble is, its an open plan office and I wear a skirt to work.................nah!!!!! forget it. Im not THAT cruel to my co-workers.

When I worked at Pacific Bell they had gyms at some of the locations, but when SBC took over, the didn't have gyms in their offices so they took them out of the Pacific Bell offices as well.:(

I have a set of lighter dumbbells, handweights and wristweights in my office, and I bang out 10- to 15-minute mini-sessions before the workday begins Tues. - Fri. In the winter season (which is fast approaching) I also power-walk to fast-paced music on my lunch hours 2-3 times per week. I find this helps keep the blood bubbling between formal workout sessions.

I'm fortunate that one of my office buildings has a large aerobic room (with a padded aerobic floor) tv, dvd player, vcr, steps and also bikes, treadmill and stepper. We also have a wt room with an old universal machine, tons of free wts, benches mirrored walls. It is very convenient. But now that I'm in another building and my company pays for a gym membership to a rec ctr that is next to my current building, I workout there at lunch. We also have access to a walking/path etc.

When my kids were younger, work was the only time/place I could squeeze in a workout.

Take Care,

Diana

Hi, I also workout at work. I have a barbell, dumbbells, stability ball, mat, tv/dvd player, step, gym clothes, and lots of tapes at work. I workout every day in the lab and everyone knows that this is something I MUST do to remain sane. I could not work the long hours, 7 days per week without this distraction for 1-2 hours per day. I actually really enjoy working out in the lab and noone has ever given me any grief. I think I get less crabby when I exercise daily and my co-workers appreciate this. The only negative is I dont have a shower in the next room, but I have lots of changes of clothes, towels and a washcloth.

Currently, I am just like Suzanne....even have the TV, DVD, VCR, and receiver at work!!LOL!! Don't know what I will do when I leave this job!!:)
