Does anyone own this Electrolux vacuum or one that they really like?

I would like a new vacuum (can't afford one but that's inconsequential :D) and saw this one on QVC this morning. Of course it's a one day special and I do like canister vacuums as I do have an old Electrolux and I LOVE attachments! I want a vacuum that really sucks up all the dust and gets deep down in the carpets. I have 'til midnight tonight to order at the sale price which does sound reasonable but I haven't been shopping around yet. Does anyone own this one or any other similar type that really cleans? Thanks!

I had a Miele canister vacuum for many years. I thought it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like about it was the price of the vacuum bags  and going through them pretty quickly.

I am pretty partial to canister vacuums but I wanted to get a bagless vacuum and but couldn't find a bagless canister. I ended up getting the new Dyson DC28 Pet Vacuum Airmuscle just this afternoon. Oh.my.gosh! What a difference!

I have 5 dogs, a cat, a hamster and two messy kids :p I was absolutely amazed how much pet hair and dirt this vacuum got out of my carpet - that I had vacuumed this morning, or at least so I thought

The best price I found was http://www.vacuum-direct.com/dyson-dc28-airmuscle-animal-vacuum.aspx $ 479 with free shipping. It was $ 599 everywhere else.

Thanks gettingfitmom for the info and after thought. I have mostly carpeting in my house. Electrolux does have a good reputation and I'm glad the one you have is working well for you.

Carola, that Dyson sure looks powerful. In fact, could you aim it in the direction of my house? I'll bet it could vacuum my house from yours! :D Based on the activity in your house, to say the least :p, it sounds like you need a supersonic vacuum like the one you got. Thanks so much for the link. Happy fur sucking!!!! (Just watch out for that hamster! ;) )

I've decided I'm going to wait on the vacuum. I can't make a decision that quickly when I'm financially challenged at the moment. I'm going to take my time and do more research since I'm really not in a rush.

Thanks again for your responses!

Oreck hands down. Why? Lightweight, easy to use. That means vacuum comes out more!:0

Wendy, you like the Oreck? I've had my doubts about their products. Maybe because I don't like the guy who owns it/does the infomercials. :D Which model do you have and does it really get all the deep down dirt and dust?
