We're thinking about purchasing the Tradclimber by Bowflex, does anyone own one?? It looks like a great machine. I'd love some opinions on it...

I own a treadmill and I use it every day. I actually created a December Rotation that I do the treadmill for a half hour and then do a body part using the Slow and Heavy Series and then I end with a 20 minute ab workout.

We purchased our treadmill about 4 or 5 years ago and it's an iFit.com treadmill that we purchased at Sears.

http://www.ifit.com/

We download the workouts and burn them to a CD and the treadmill is wired into our CD player and the workouts work with the treadmill.

When it says the incline is going up to 9 and the speed is going up to 5.5 mph the treadmill automatically does it.

It is the greatest piece of equipment that we ever purchased. Most workouts are 30 minutes but they do have 45 minute workouts. I mainly do the 30 minutes because of lack of time but I burn 300 calories with each workout.

Thanks so much,
Sharon

Thank you for the responses, but I own a treadmill. BUT.....this is the treadclimber from bowflex......if I could figure out how to get the website on here you'd know what I mean....It looks really great and it's different from a treadmill......OK I'm gonna try to get the site, hold on....................................I can't figure it out, I'm at work.....anyway the website is treadclimber.com
check it out!!!

Hi Treelyn,

I have seen the advertisements and if we had the money I would probably get one but then I think you can just put the incline up on the treadmill and get kinda the same workout. I know the up and down motion is continuous on the treadclimber.

Hope someone can give some opinions

I also wanted a Treadclimber! I ordered the dvd and watched it and was very excited by it. Until I realized it would cost almost $2,000! NOT in my budget. I ended up spending $800 on an elliptical machine and I just love it. But I think the TC would be TC (totally cool lol).

There were 3 versions if I remember correctly and the cheapest one was $1,800 plus freight.

They're pretty proud of this thing lol.

read some reviews on it. The biggest concern is that when you have moving parts on a machine, it always comes down to maintenance and repair.

On the tread-climber it has twice the moving parts. You can expect a higher expense to maintain and repair this thing.

To me, it looks like a novelty. You can get the cardio that you need from any machine or taking advantage of the outdoors.

Logically, this would be just another option for variety. The cardio vascular advantages are minute.

You can get the same results that they advertise with proper nutrition and exercise. Cathe is the best example of that.

Since it just came out in the last year, I would wait a year or two and see how these things last over time.

Cheers!
