I would take my running shoes and try to do some running, but I haven't done any running so far. Mostly, I walk, a lot, on vacations. It's the only time where I don't have to sit at a desk all day so I make the most of it.

I would say walking and running (if you can muster up the energy to work so hard on a holiday).

Try a search on the open discussion & ask Cathe forums. I know this question has been asked in the past & Cathe has given some "away from home" routines.

Give this one a try! Squats and lunges are fantastic for your glutes!

15 push ups.

Hold a plank position for 90 seconds

100 dips
100 squat thrusts
50 lunges on each leg (2 sets)
100 squats (2 sets)
100 calf raises with your toes on the edge of a stair.(2 sets)
15 tricep push ups.

Finish with a mile jog or brisk walk

Hi Mary,

My mom's DH died Monday! I am going to fly to Germany the end of this month! I was totally freaking out yesterday, so I ask Cathe on the Ask Cathe forum what to do?? Debbie and Cathe found a rotation for me without equipment, maybe you like to check it out! It is awesome!! All you need is a Dynaband! I hate not to workout! It really helps me with my stress!

Hope this helps!

When I travel, I do not workout at all.

I use the time to rest and when I return to working out, I always perform better.

Belinda, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure your mom is so relieved to know you're coming to spend time with her. It must be hard for you to be so far away from your family at a time like this. Have a safe trip and I'll keep you in my prayers.

For lower body, many unweighted exercises will work very well: lunges (like walking lunges across the room), squats, jump squats, plyo scissors. After a warm-up, you could do a set of squats, followe by a set of plyo squats, for example. You could also do some kickboxing kicks (especially back kicks) for some lower body and cardio.

Also, take advantage of opportunities to walk as much as possible, like when exploring the sites.

If you are staying in a hotel, you could also take advantage of th weight room. And/or climb stairs (take the elevator down---easier on the knees--then take the stairs to the top floor and repeat a couple of times).

(A small request: could you start using more punctuation in your posts? It would make them easier to read, and being at bifocal stage in my life, I need as much help as possible! ;-) TIA! )

Why not the lunge/squat series from BG? The forward lunge w/ pulses, squats to the side w/ pulses, then rear lunges w/ pulses and then back to the squat? Did that with my bootcampers this morning and was hearing all about it.... }( }( }( :p
