Does anyone know. Lymph nodes

I had a Painless lymph node suddenly get swollen behind my ear. I went to the doctor and they said to leave it alone I was fighting off an infection.. It was about a month and it didn't do down any so I went back. I saw an ear nose and throat doctor. They then drew blood, did a cbc and said I had a viral infection and gave me antibiotics. It has gone down a lot to about 1 inch in size maybe smaller. I can't see it. Anyway my question is, how long does it take for lymph nodes to go down completely. I suppose it isn't helping that i keep touching it.

My DD had an inflamed on under her chin after she got her braces on, and I think it took at least a week to go down. If it remains inflamed, I would go back to the doctor, because you may still be fighting infection. BTW, antibiotics only work against a bacterial infection, not a viral one.
