I'm an American car buyer, too. I know all of the arguments, but the reality is that the majority of the profit per car goes out of country. I'd rather support the US. I live in the Bay Area, so I'm one of the few LOL. Different strokes for different folks.
I have a GMC Envoy and love it, too. I traded my Yukon Denali in for the Envoy - wanted a smaller car. Had the Yukon for 4 years and never had a problem with it. My Envoy is a year old, and I've had similar success with it. Plus I get a lot of compliments on it - it's a sharp looking car.
I am on the local Search and Rescue team and we have both a Tahoe and an Expedition. The Expedition does hold more - quote a bit more. When we were switched from the newer Expedition to the older Tahoe (understandibly, the Sheriff's office gets the newer truck) we had to take out some of the things we used to carry and put them in the RV. They are both great cars, and will give you a great ride. If you like the Expedition, go for it.
