Does anyone else have trouble just laying around?

I don't mean occasional lazy times, but for prolonged periods? I absolutely loved Thanksgiving - great food & fun to be with family, but after a few days I start to feel really blahhh and blobish like. The more I sit around, the worse I seem to feel. It's like my body craves the endorphins from the regular exercise. I feel so much better today after a good workout. We've become a weird bunch, haven't we?? ;P

I am the same way...

This is why I get so upset when I miss more than one work out at any given time. The longer I am lazy, the lazier I get! Do you know what I mean? LOL

Nope. Not at all. In fact I watched Braveheart back to back last night.

Of course, when I do work out, I tend to prefer Hi/Lo, jumpy, dance moves so maybe I'm somewhat making up for my innate laziness.

Debbie, I feel the same way. DH and I keep threatening to have one of those weekends where we just rent movies and lay around watching them but it doesn't happen...we prefer to be doing!

I did a lot of laying around all week end, slept in, etc. but did not feel ONE BIT guilty! I figured I needed the rest, so I rested. Too many of you on this site are into feeling guilty when you really shouldn't. It's REALLY OK to take care of yourself, and REST over a holiday weekend.

I also ate a lot and did NOT feel guilty because of it (two pig-out days this week instead of my usual one). I worked out more, and knew I'd hope back on the wagon - thus no guilt.
Just Do It! :)

I don't like to sit around much. I get antsy. It isn't about feeling guilty, it is about being bored. I get bored half way through a movie. I can only read for about an hour at a time and then I need to "do" something. I just have a very short attention span.

I have a hard time sitting thru the movies DH brings home. Hate voilence and blood shed. I will walk out as I don't need to see someone's head flying off anyhow. LOL! I only like to watch movies that make me forget the time.

I have no trouble laying around after an intense workout. I actually look forward to it. Sometimes it is my motivation to get thru the workout so I can just lay around briefly. I think of how refreshing it will feel to sit my toasted butt down. LOL!

Actually, when I say I watch a movie, I really am doing several other things as well, unless it's really got my attention. DH complains that I am a serious multi-tasker, which is true. I'm also an RN so it's not like I really get to lounge all day. So when I have days off like this, I take advantage & flop! There's no time like downtime!

Not at all.... I use to have a hard time relaxing. I've LOVED taking it easy this weekend - family, daughter home from college.

Agree though I still can't sit through a movie!

In fact I may go take a nap. Pats are doing horribly today so I'm NOT enjoying the game !

Yes, I hate just laying around doing nothing. If I do it for too long it starts to feel good and then its hard for me to start doing anything again. Thats why I'm always doing something.

Hate lying around doing nothing--I need structure and some sort of plan, and I absolutely *have to* get outside and get some fresh air every day, usually in the form of a walk, even if it's short. And that's usually after I've done my cardio for the day, so I think it's related to the need for air and sunshine, not exercise.

Anyhow, long vacations in which I'm not going anywhere and have nothing really planned drive me nuts for that reason. I'm better on a regular work week, but even then, I won't sit around at night doing nothing. Even if I'm only watching tv, I'm either knitting or bopping up and down to wash dishes, fix my stuff for the next day at work, DOING something. Otherwise I feel like a large slug.

Sitting too long on the internet, even if it's reading the forum, can make me feel blobbish, too. :-(

oh! i know, i am feeling it now. I relaxed all weekend, and I have to search for motivation right now to get going. I become more lazy the more I sit around.

hey now. It's not a guilt thing at all. I can lay around with the best of 'em. I don't feel guilty for it either. I just feel kinda of blah after a really prolonged period. Don't mistake that for having a problem taking time to rest from exercise. I just meant feeling better in general from your usual w/o routines.

I have no trouble at all lying around. I love it. I used to think I had to exercise at least 6 days a week. Not anymore. The only exercise I get on the weekend is walking my dog and folding clothes. I have not had any strength loss with this and I haven't gained any weight. I actually look forward to my workout on Monday more now than I used to. I have no problem at all sitting through a movie or two or three. As a matter of fact, I watched Lifetime all day yesterday and felt great.

Now I love working out. I have an extremely hard time sitting still for prolonged times. The only time I sit through a whole movie is at a theater because I have no choice. Sometimes when family comes over I might not take more than two breaks during a movie. Time off makes little difference in physique or strength/endurance gains., unless it is for really long periods of time. I learned to remind myself of that. Enjoy yourself and know it is probably for the better. Rests and relaxation are good for you:)
