Does anyone cut out carbs after lunch?

I was just wondering what the results would be if I didn't consume any carbs after 4 or so? Im sure someone around here must do it.:) And if so what do you eat in the evenings for dinner? All salads? I am not even sure what veggies have the most carbs.
Thanks,
Lori:)

I eat carbs after 4pm mainly because I exercise at night and eat dinner after my workout, by which time I am STARVING!!

I think it comes down to understanding that all carbs are not "created equal" and you CAN consume carbs after 4pm depending on what they are.
Fish, chicken, (grilled of course) salads, fruits, low fat yogerts...........are all okey in my opinion, and of course with ANY food groups, watch you dont have "Portion Destortion" where you think because its low carb or low fat, you can eat tons.

I remember reading somewhere that it didnt matter what time you ate at night, the body still processed the food the same way while you slept - Im counting on all you nutrition experts to clarify that for me

I prefer to watch the FAT consumption late at night, not so much CARBS

I used to eat very limited carbs after lunch. It worked pretty well for me as far as weight loss, but I found that when I didn't have any carbs after lunch I used to not look forward to eating dinner because all I would have is either a salad with chicken or tuna, or chicken and veggies, etc. I like my carbs way too much, and now even though I do have carbs at dinner time and sometimes even with my pre-bedtime snack I'm still seeing great results, plus I have more energy for my workouts in the morning. I just make sure to have healthy carbs (no white bread, no pasta and sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes) and I always eat my carbs with a protein, never alone.

I just read in one of my fitness magazines not to eat carbs in the evenings because you don't need energy in the evenings because you were going to just relax and then go to sleep. Mainly breakfast and lunch to have energy during the day. I forget which magazine it was. It is pretty much what I do.

I eat when I can. Often don't get dinner until 10 or 11 PM. I always have a protein with anything but I frankly don't care what time it is when it comes to choosing my meal/snack.

I tend to eat more starchy carbs at breakfast, fewer at lunch, and fewer still at dinner. But not all the time.

If you are looking to decrease your starchy carb intake in the evening, then that meal would be a protein, salad, and steamed or otherwise prepared veggies (except corn, potatoes and other root veggies, and maybe peas(?)).
