Ok-- so now I'm scheduled for first thing Thursday morning!! I'm so nervous and excited and making of list of what I have to do before then!!

Ok I'm going to stop now. LOL... I just wish I didn't have to interrupt my workouts... that part sucks.

Good luck with it! Make sure to come back and give us details since you'll have some free time (from exercising!;-))

Oh My Gosh!!! Why didn't you e-mail me?????

That is so awesome! Buy lots of pillows. Your tailbone will need them from sitting and sleeping upright (for a week). Stock up on drinkable yogurts (won't be able to tip head back and bring things up to your mouth easily). Ice packs (cheap at Wal-Mart)

Get your prescriptions filled asap! You may need to start antibiotics 48 hours prior to surgery (I did). Do you have you post surgery under garment? Button up shirts (can't pull things over your head). Sweat pants/shorts (it will be hard to pull pants up and down to go potty).

What else...?

Good luck, and I hope you get exactly what you want. and for your go home clothes, make sure you have a baggy button up shirt so you don't have to bend your arm back too far for the other sleave. Very lose pants, as when you tug just a little you'll feel. And if you have to be in there for a few hours, make sure you have your pants on hand as it can get very cold in there. They usually won't let you put anything over your top, so make sure to ask for a warm blankets. And you might want a tooth brush as sometimes your mouth with taste really funny after you wake, as that breathing tube is just plain yucky. Granted you probably won't know it's there, as you'll be asleep when it goes in, and when they take it out. But it sure can leave a horrible taste behind.

Good Luck. Sarahs and everyones else advice is great. Definately button up shirts and easy to remove pants. You will be sore for a litte bit, but its worth it! Like I said, I'd do it again!

Hi Susan! Good Luck and FAST healing vibes to you! BTW, how is your Grandma? I hope she is okay. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Susan,

Try NOT to freak out about the bloating...it's from all the meds! It DOES go away!!! It can be quite a bloat, too! I've had some women tell me 10 pounds of bloat. I know mine was bad but I was smart enough to stay away from the scale! You do the same! No point in upsetting yourself over something you have no control over.

Keep chap stick handy. Your mouth and lips will be horribly dry after the surgery. The cotton mouth is more intense than I have ever experienced!!!

You will sleep a lot the first few days. I'd wake up, watch 15 minutes of t.v. before I was exhausted enough to take a nap!LOL!!

You are going to do great!!! Relax and ENJOY!!

Good luck, hon! You'll do fine! Gosh, I am sooo excited for you! This is bringing back the memories of when I had it done 3 years ago and all of the emotions I went through!!!! :)
