Do you have equipment you don't use?

I'm just curious. I have a rebounder that I've used a few times and only once recently (more because I realized I hadn't used it at all). My SO thinks I should sell it, but I'm like, no, because I'll probably want it down the road.

Anyway, just curious if I am the only one with dusty equipment who doesn't want to let it go??

Marie - I bought my Step (the original) 13 years ago when DD was born and I wanted something I could do at home. I used it for a bit, then it sat in the closet collecting dust for ages. I got back into home exercise starting with Tae Bo, then a Tae Bo buddy introduced me to Cathe, and 11 years later, I dusted off the step that I dragged around the country (7 different states!) and never used. Now I use it every week. So, keep it - you do never know...

Marie,

I did almost the same thing as Christine except mine wasn't the original step, it's a small one that came with a Buns of Steel set, and I didn't drag it around the country. It did sit in my basement for YEARS!!! Everytime DH would clean down there, he'd say, "Don't you think we should get rid of that thing?"

We got an elliptical a few years ago, and my "Home Exercising" began. I saw and bought a Firm video at Target, dragged out my puny little step, and started at it. Now, I will be getting a REAL step for xmas, if I don't find a used one first!

Hang on to your rebounder for a while. You never know when you might want to use it, or need to because of joint issues or something.

Oh Marie, don't even get me started on all the exercise equipment collecting dust in my storage room--not to mention all the stuff I have given away. Let's see, to mention a few things I still have in storage: a Health Rider (wow does that date me, or what), a Nordic Track treadmill, a Total Gym, an Ab Dolly Plus, and various smaller items like a weighted vest, ankle and wrist weights (the old ones that buckle), etc. etc. Like you, I have some difficulty letting go of this stuff and keep thinking someday when I get too old to do Cathe, the Firm, and Gin Miller, I might want to use one of those. (But I am already 56, so don't know when that will be!!)

I have unloaded a few items, though. I recently gave one of my sisters my rebounder (pretty much unused) after holding onto it for more years than I care to admit, my Firm BSS system (with the first incline step thing), and my old original Reebok Step. I also have several unused stability balls b/c they came with the videos that I purchased.

So, I say if you don't want to sell your rebounder, then don't!!!!

My bosu, which I really want to use but can't figure out how to fit it in with all the other exercising I do that's of a higher priority; an extra step in my basement; an extra stability ball in my basement; a 20 lb med ball I bought for Core Max & had to downgrade to a 10 lb (silly me :+ ); an extra yoga mat that's now next to my bed for when Cosmo can make it up the stairs at night.

I donated my smaller step when I got my club step and now I wish I hadn't. My sister is coming to visit at Christmas and we could have worked out together if I'd saved it. You just never know. :)

I rarely use my gazelle. I found out quickly that I was too advanced for it. I hesitate to get rid of it though because if we decide to have another baby, it could come in handy for late pregnancy and early post-preg work outs.

I used my rebounder alot in the beginning and now I hardly use at all either Marie. I don't know why. I guess I just got burnt out on it. I won't get rid of that though as I did really enjoy it and am sure I will use it again. :)

I have several pieces that are gathering dust.
Some I will use (I intend to, at any rate): my punching bag, my Solofelx Rockit; others I wish I could get rid of easily: my Reebok Core board (shipping costs are prohibitive for my trying to sell it); others have 'problems' that make them unusable by others (at least if I want a good conscience): my Bosu that has a leak and has to be blown up every time I want to use it...which isn't often, for that very reason!

Well, remember that Body by Jake Bun and Thigh Rocker kick that Francine got us started on a few years ago? I use it as a holder for my stability ball :7

LOL Candi. I have several of the old Firm wooden steps, and if you turn them upside down they are perfect stability ball holders!:p

DVD's. I have lots of DVD's I don't use.

I use every bit of my equipment. My step sees less action than my elliptical and weights, but I do use it...sometimes...sort of...more so lately:D

Yes! The washer, the dryer, the oven, the vacuum....:D

I actually don't have alot of unused exercise stuff. I don't like clutter so I tend to give what's unused the old heave-ho.

Yup, I have the Bun & Thigh Rocker, as well, specifically because of Francine. It is a great piece of equipment for the price, but I just don't find a way to use it often. I want to get rid of it, but my mom doesn't (she doesn't like to get rid of anything!). But considering it only cost me $39.00 with no shipping, I can't imagine getting it out of my hair without charging that much for shipping!

Other than that, I use everything. The only other excess I seem to have is step risers! I now have 2 full-size steps (my mom wanted one for herself), the high step, and we bought tons of extra risers back in the day when I wanted to do leg presses. The stack is huge :)

i get picked on more for the videos i have rather then my equipment. once in awhile dh will ask if i still use something then i make sure i am using the next workout so he doesn't say much after that LOL. but i get more "do you still even use that video" my answer "yes but i like to mix it up" or "yes it has its place in my rotation and i NEED IT" LOL.

Yeah Marie, I have a fitness circle hanging on a hook behind my bands, it's funny I was so thrilled to find it and used it fairly often at first. Now I look at it, think I should use it and then think 'meh, another day'. I just bought a rebounder and have used it a couple of times. For me it will come in handy to use for some of Cathe's higher impact blasts, my tuck jumps are AWESOME on the rebounder}( :+

Wait till you hear this:eek:

I have 13 original Step platforms 44 risers and a mini topper
stacked in my work out room. One platform and a few risers are in
a corner in my bedroom because of a space issue. I like all the Steps
and risers to be stacked even against the wall;-)

I started with one step and bought another 2nd hand barely used,
my first one started to bend and the teeter todder effect drove
me nuts:eek: .
Our old YMCA was closing and moving to a brand new building
and had ordered all new euipment.
I was there the last day of closing teaching a step class, many
steps were already gone, but 11 and some risers still needed a good
home. They followed me home so I told DH.
I teach 4 classes a week at a high school kick box, and
Hi-Low/weights, I would love to teach these ladies Step too.
But the school can't provide a safe area for me to store them.
I'm still working on this, it's alittle dream I want to come true.
This may sound crazy , but for now I just admire them and dream
about the day they will all get a little use, from my girls.

I still have the blue thigh thingy (can't remember the original name)that Suzanne Sommers endorsed. Inherited it from my mother in law about 15 years ago. Wonder if you can even get two cents for it on Ebay:7 :7
