Do you feel the burn!?!?!

Cathlete
Hello all,

This is just a general comment that I'd like to share with those of you who are Cathe fans like me. I'm relatively new to Cathe (3 or 4 months), but I wouldn't give up my videos for ANYTHING! I've noticed serious results and I can't wait to save up to purchase more videos. Anyways, I wanted to ask if everyone (not just me) felt the burn when doing certain portions of Cathe's videos. I consider myself an advanced exerciser, but some exercises leave me gasping for air and shaky all over. Not that I don't like that, but I just wanted to make sure I'm not alone. Here's a little list of things that make me REALLY "feel the burn":

1. Legs and Glutes - the excersize where you're laying on your side, knees bent at about a 45 degree angle, and you push up with your lower leg while extending your upper leg then return your upper leg to a bent position without completely falling limp to the floor. I think you do a set of at least 16 reps.

2. PUB - 15lb. biceps after doing all the other sets with 10lb. and 12lb. AND after doing the tricep set before.

3. Boot Camp - Second set of Squat Thrust Climbers.

4. Cardio and Weights - Second set of Arnold Presses.

I know there are more, but that's all I can think of right now. Please let me know if any of you feel the same way.

Have a safe and happy holiday season!

For me, it's any type of low-end, lower body work. Low end squats, low end plie squats, low end static lunges, you get the picture. Also, the ab section of Step, Jump and Pump makes my ab muscles scream. Isn't it great?!

You got it, Shelbygirl. I think I was too timid to say that the low-end portions of the lower body sections make me squirm. WOW! Also, the abs in Step, Jump, and Pump are killer. The abs in ME are also sort of tough considering all the work you just did before.

Thanks for letting me know someone else out there feels the same.

I did PUB yesterday and I'm still feeling the burn, lol. The bicep work is a killer!

Squat thrust climbers are a challenge everytime I do BC. I think I've only completed the whole set a handfull of times. Those lying side leg lifts are tough too, especially the second leg. The inner thigh lifts also bring me to tears.

Some others that get me everytime:
Explosive lunges
Pikes
Lunges in Power Hour

DO I FEEL IT!?!?!

I just mentioned this on the 20 December 2004 thread.

As for my legs in L&G, that side thing you're talking about when lying on the floor, burn, YES. I usually just look at them and and go to the next leg work.

Hover squats.....I suck my teeth every time I do them.

D, you're not alone.

I'm with you on Explosive Lunges. I can go back & forward but when it's time to explode, I don't think my knees are bending. Sometimes I think I'm just doing a very sllllooooowwww cross country split;( .

LOW ENDS! hurt so GOOD!}(

i think that everyone here who does cathe on a regular basis has just a tiny (or not so tiny;)) masochistic streak in them!

PUB biceps are a killer, as is the stability ball ab work AFTER all that upper-body work. I do abs after the warmup, then the workout; otherwise, I have trouble holding myself in plank for my feeble attempts at pikes.

The floor leg work in Pure Strength Legs also leaves me gasping - I canNOT keep my leg from touching the floor between the kazillion reps of lifts.

Oh yeah, I feel the burn with Cathe!

On the explosive lunges, my legs give out!!! PUB biceps definitely burn! Oh, and the low ends when you don't WANT to do a 7 count!!!

The ole' 7 count.... that made me chuckle. Although Super Sets and and Push and Pull aren't really that hard compared to Cathe's other workouts, the 7 counts in those two workouts are killer. I hate when she asks if you cheated and came up after three!

I just jacked the weight up to 35lbs. on the static lunge in ME and THAT is WORK!!!

The bicep work in PUB is killer. Must gibe Cathe a round of applause though, just as I am ready to quit she spits out enough encouragement to keep me pushing.

I cannot get through the ab work in PUB (only time I have EVER had to not complete a portion of a workout). I will take the above suggestion and do it straight from warm-up.

The side leg lift outer thigh work in PLB is hard to do on the second leg because the first leg is pooped!

In the Gauntlet, she does the flying jumping jacks from BC and then hops straight to interval #6 from IMAX II (up, jack, rock back, knee repeater, ankle raises a around the world)...takes the whole interval to catch my breathe and then it is time for the ski jumps!!!!

Cathe is my kind of evil!!!!}( }( }(
