Interesting thread...
I rarely get offended by someone's political views or strong opinions - they have the right to believe what they want. What really irritates me is when someone strongly believes one way and that is perfectly ok, but won't hear of it if you believe a different way (religion) - - my oh my - - can't we all just believe the way we want without forcing the other side to believe that way?? Everyone has a different life path..........just because I don't agree doesn't mean I am forcing you to think the way I do.
Religion is definitely one of those topics that is very taboo - - however, I find it extremely fascinating. I love reading about how a certain belief system came into place, the background of it, ect....but believe me I NEVER bring this topic up - EVER. Personally I am never offended by what someone else believes on this topic (why should I be?) but many people cannot discuss religion without becoming angry - - very much the topic to avoid.....unless you are among people who truly just want to discuss the different aspects......
I do have strong opinions about childhood obesity, adult obesity and health in general as we all know Americans obesity levels are drastically rising - - however I am cognicent of my audience when discussing such issues...
It does drive me nuts how some people are automatically offended by comments from another party when they are not even directed in that way....Seriously is it that hard to learn to joke and laugh in a good humored way?? There is a point that we must not cross, however I think most of us know that line.......geesh
I never was offended by the "Juniors Department" comment - I shop in the JR's but believe me there are some fashions and styles that as a young adult, even I avoid - and I definitely agree that some people who are older shouldn't dress like their own kids......but to each his own - -
Well happy posting - Is it time for my workday to be over?? LOL
