HI I just wanted to know if any of you bring your significant other? I was wondering if I should bring my husband but I would feel bad leaving him in the hotel the entire weekend. Is he allowed to go to the resteraunts with the road trippers? Is there any thing fun for him to do in NJ while I'm at the road trip? Is there time between the activites to spend some seperate time with him? Or should I just leave his butt home. LOL

Hi Kristin!

Each year a handful of spouses travel with their Road Tripper spouses. Cathe graciously offers free use of her gym for the whole RT weekend to Road Trippers' spouses, so perhaps your husband would enjoy that. He can use the equipment and take classes (not RT classes, but there will be LOTS of other classes going on.) If you'd like to preview Cathe's gym (Four Seasons Health Club), go to www.hugeclub.com. It's an awesome place.

The Road Trip events, including planned meals and transportation, are only for registered RT'ers, as I'm sure you understand. That doesn't mean that your husband couldn't come to the restaurant for lunch on Saturday or to the diner on Sunday -- just that he would just need to plan on sitting with some of the other spouses (or you could join him, if you liked), and he'd need to order and pay for his own food.

As for free time, after the RT gets rolling on Friday afternoon there really isn't much. You might be able to break free to see your hubby for a little while between classes if he's also at Cathe's gym. But you're gonna be verrrrrrrrry busy, and you're also, I think, going to want to be spending time getting to know your fellow Road Trippers. If your hubby decides to come with you, it'd probably be best to have him plan on pretty much entertaining himself. ;-)

Hope this helps!

My DH knows that this weekend away is all about ME!!! LOL. He'd be bored, and, anyway, he needs to stay at home with the pets. He went to California for a weekend with a friend last year, and, quite honestly, I loved having the house to myself. I think it's good to"leave their butts at home" from time-to-time!!!! :p

My DH will be staying home with our 2 daughters, ages 6 and will-be 4 at RT time. I have NEVER EVER been away from my family overnight so this will be a huge wake-up call to DH as to how much I do all day! I'll be gone for 3 nights (I'm flying out Thursday). One of my teenage sisters will spend Thursday night here so he can work on Friday. But the rest of the time he will be alone. They won't starve though - I'm sure his mom will keep them well fed! It's the state of my house I'm most scared about! Who cares though!? I GET TO GO ON RT!!!!:7

My husband is coming, but he is not a registered guest. I'm sure he'll take advantage of the gym...maybe he can get to know your husband or sit with him at meals.;)

Kate, my husband will be staying home with out daughter who will be 13 months at RT time. It will be the longest period of time where all the responsibility is on him. I'm a tiny bit worried, but I'm sure he'll be fine and it will be good for both him and Ameila. I also hope he will realize how much work is involved with caring for a baby AND taking care of the housework.

And I will get to focus on me and only me!!! Well, and on the other RTers and all of us having fun.

Sonja.

Sonja, I feel your pain! My house is going to be a MESS! :)
It will be very wierd to not cut up anybody's food at a restaurant before I eat mine!

My DH had all 3 of our kids for the weekend last year, and he came through with flying colors. And the house wasn't too bad, believe it or not! He's up for the challenge this year. It's good for the kids and Dad to have some bonding time! :D
