Disney with food allergies

Has anyone brought a child with food allergies to Disney World? If so,what do they do to accomodate that? One of my children has a peanut allergy and I want to plan a safe trip.

Thanks,
Beth

We went to Disney FL with my son who is 5 and has sensitivity to wheat and dairy. His is not life threatening. Disney was very accommodating, it is better to eat in the sit down resteraunts, but we did not do that, we were staying in a condo nearby, on a budget, and mostly ate there.

We did eat at the park several times though. They have an allergy hotline where you can call and tell them the allergies and they can tell you where to eat that is safe. At the burger place in tomorrowland, can't remember the name, you can ask for the manager and they had all sorts of accomodations. Great company.
Have fun.

Thanks!!I did check with Disney about what they do for kids with food allergies and they are really on top of things. I didn't know if anyone had any additional tips or things that they did that worked for this problem. We are staying in the cabins that have the full kitchens so I can make some of our meals, but I know we will be eating in the park. Thanks for the tip about the burger place in Tomorrowland. I will check that one out.

We stayed nearby and ate most meals at the resort. However, we did enjoy eating once a day at Disney. My youngest has nut/seafood allergies. Many of the sit down restaurants sold pizza and chicken strips.
