Disk 14: Plie Squats

Hi Cathe and fellow STS-ers,

I just did Disk 14, and have a question about the alternating hand plie squats. I'm supposed to do them with a 30# DB, which I don't yet have (I never thought I would need weights that heavy -- I owe that all to you, Cathe!). For today, I substituted 2 15's instead, where I picked them up and put them down with you, but had 1 in each hand. My alternative is to use a 25# DB with 2.5# plate weights (so a bit lighter than what is called for, but I would be able to alternate the hands). I am concerned about buying 30's, because I have teeny tiny hands, and can hardly handle the 25's. Do you think my alternative is a good sub?

Thanks!

Mel

I don't know. I used a 25# db, figured I could use my 1.5# wrist weights for a slight addition. I think the 2 15#s is good as long as you go low enough--HA!--I think that's what Cathe's doing with those "set it on the floor" exercises, getting us LOW ( ouch:) ).

I do plan to purchase at least one 30# db soon, though, like maybe tomorrow. Don't think I'm quite ready for 40s! :D
